Rockets are trading TyTy Washington to Atlanta in what looks like a money-saving move. TT didn't have a great season (owing in part to his injury which kept his total game count to 31 last year) but he had a cluster of good games at the end of Februrary when he actually got minutes. Any interest? Second-round pick, maybe? Or is he just overmatched in the NBA?

I think players in bad organizations are worth risk, especially if they are players who need specific roles. TyTy Washington is one of them.

I wanted him way more than Wendell Moore last summer so I’d be interested.

Does Towns for Dame actually have legs and if so do we want him here?

No legs, just Bill Simmons suggestion.

It's been a talking point with a bunch of Ringer podcasts, but it makes me leery. I want the peak potential of this team to align with Ant's prime. The Gobert trade was already weird for that reason, and a 33 year old Dame trade doubles down on that. It puts us in a win-now championship boat with holes in it.

Also don't think he'd be happy here. I suspect he's focused on Miami for more than just basketball reasons.

And he sucks at defense - we're just gonna take a step back after all the work we did putting together a pretty rock-solid roster of defense?

And finally, even if KAT gets in the door of negotiations (and I'm skeptical that they'd have much interest), they probably want more on top of that, and I'm scared what TC might agree to.

I could potentially see us being a third or fourth team in that scenario with something else coming back to us. But no, I would not want that trade straight up. And that's not saying I think towns is better than dame

I feel we are already in the win-now boat. This will be Ant's 4th year. If we claim Ant is a top 20 talent, most of them are ready for deep playoff runs on their 4th year (assuming there is reasonable talent around them, which we have). If not now, when? If not us, who? (Yes, Lakers, Suns, DEN, BOS, and MIL)

To me the real question is: Are we better as a team with Daim or Towns? Daim played less games than Towns in the past few years. Stats are skewed toward Daim as he had his best scoring year last year and Towns had his worst. It feels like a trade we would make before trading deadline if Gobert/Towns/Ant triangle doesn't work.

Dream big and shoot for the moon.

I don’t think we’re a contender with either player, so give me the younger guy, Towns. But make not mistake, Dame is the better player and even at his age, has more trade value in a vacuum.

I would absolutely not expect a Damian Lillard trade. The dude understandably would be pissed if he got sent to Minneapolis instead of Miami Beach, which kills the trade.

That said, if it did happen, it would be something like this...

LAC: Mike Conley
OUT: Nicolas Batum and Robert Covington

Why for Los Angeles? Get a starter-level Point-Guard who can share minutes with Russell Westbrook.

MIN: Damian Lillard and Marcus Morris (or Robert Covington/Nicolas Batum)
OUT: Karl-Anthony Towns and Mike Conley

Why for Minnesota? Look below.

Damian Lillard / Shake Milton / Jordan McLaughlin
Anthony Edwards / Nickeil Alexander-Walker / Wendell Moore Jr.
Jaden McDaniels / Troy Brown Jr. / Josh Minott
Kyle Anderson / Nicolas Batum / Leonard Miller
Rudy Gobert / Naz Reid /

Enough space to use remainder of partial MLE.

POR: Karl-Anthony Towns and Robert Covington
OUT: Damian Lillard

Why for Portland? Get an All-NBA Center who is entering his prime. Can probably be traded for a huge package in the future.

Scoot Henderson / Anfernee Simons / Shaedon Sharpe / Jerami Grant / Karl-Anthony Towns

That said, Portland is likely just squeezing Miami for more assets with their rhetoric.

I agree Dame will be in Miami for the 2023-2024 season.

Looks like Wolves have enquired Blazers about Dame trade. Haynes is quite close to Dame...so maybe there is some truth to it

Will Dame to Miami push any of the other Eastern teams' interest in a guy like Towns even higher? Originally I was thinking about teams like New York and New Jersey. Will they now be willing to include more as a way to land Karl?

I'm content to just watch our guys. How many times do we have to see a shortcut trade blow up in a team's face before we acknowledge the importance of a multi-year build-up of team chemistry? And frankly, I don't want TC making these kinds of trades anymore. They're gonna be like "we need Jaden too" and TC will be like "well, it's Dame - gotta do that - no brainer"
