2023 depth chart projections

PG - Conley, Milton, McClaughlin
SG - Edwards, NAW, Moore jr
SF - McDaniels, Brown, Minott
PF - Towns, Anderson, Miller
C. - Gobert, Reid, ???

2way - Clark, Garza, ???

My understanding is that we need 15 on the active roster in order to have three two-way contracts. If we are only keeping 14 on the active roster, and then two two-way contracts, It looks like we are set. That second five could really be interesting to watch.

Isn't Miller on a 2-way?

PG: Conley (28), NAW (15), Edwards (5)
SG: Edwards (28), Milton (16), Brown Jr (4)
SF: McDaniels (34), SlowMo (6), Minott (4), Edwards (4)
PF: Towns (24), SlowMo (20), Reid (4), Miller (G-League)
C: Gobert (32), Reid (8), Towns (8)

Something like this, but obviously injuries and rest changes things. For example, Towns and Gobert both playing 60-68 games (Missing 15-20 games each) gives Reid ~25 games of playing starter minutes (30+ MPG) which boosts his MPG substantially. One of NAW/Milton/Brown Jr will emerge as the 1st guard off the bench and 8th man joining Reid/SlowMo as our 8-man rotation. Minott could definitely get some run if we want to stay big and not run NAW/Milton/Brown Jr at the 3.

Edwards (37)
McDaniels (34)
Towns (32)
Gobert (32)
Conley (28)
SlowMo (26)
Milton (16)
NAW (15)
Reid (12)
Minott (4)
Brown Jr (4)

I still have issues with the back-up PG position. I would like a player who has more scoring chops than NAW or WMJ. Hopefully Shake can fill that.
Rotation
SF: McLaughlin, Brown
PF: Towns, Anderson
C: Gobert, Reid
SG: Edwards, NAW
PG: Conley, Shake

Out of rotation: Minott, Miller, JMac, WMJ

I am still hoping they can get a hold of flamethrower off the bench like Terrence Ross. I would even give Nowell a second chance on the minimum.

I would like to see Minott beat out Brown and maybe he will, but I can't help but wonder why Finch didn't play him more last year. I'm not sure Finch is a Minott guy. We will see. I definitely think Miller plays in Iowa and JMac and WMJ only play in emergency.

I struggle this year to make a positional depth chart, simply due to the versatility of the roster. For example, I think Finch may try to keep one of Conley or Anderson on the floor at all times, even though Anderson isn't technically the backup point guard. From there, they can mix and match almost any of the wings and any of the bigs.

These projected rosters and allocated minutes make no sense whatsoever. We all know that Towns has no place on this roster, let alone as a starter, due to being a poor fit. There is no place in today's version of pro basketball for a 27-year-old All-NBA talent with his salary and elite offensive skills, especially with 3-point shooting no longer valued. Also, where are all of our acquired future draft pick busts being slotted in this "win now" roster to keep Ant happy so he doesn't become disgruntled? Finally, how in the world have some of you forgotten to account for all of the minutes we have designated for John Q. Flexibility who is almost certain to lead us to the NBA Title?

I hope Finch tries all sorts of combos

Then why is all 5'11 of him listed as our starting SF in your chart?
