It's official. Wemby is playing Per NBA.Com.

VICTOR WEMBANYAMA

Wembanyama (hip) confirmed that he will play Wednesday against the Timberwolves, Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports. Wembanyama missed Friday's matchup with the Pelicans due to his hip issue, though it was mostly considered to be a precaution. The rookie is likely to see his normal workload Wednesday, so we can expect Julian Champagnie to head back to the bench.

Given his relationship with Rudy, I very much doubt he wants to miss any games with the Wolves. Rudy is something between a mentor and big brother to Wemby. Plus they are likely teammates in future international competitions. It’s just a shame that by the time Wemby will be able to pick his team, Rudy will be long retired, hopefully in a Wolves jersey.

Maybe Wemby wants to play against Rudy. I bet there are many players who would rather skip the matchup.

Only the bigs with something to prove or the people closest to him. Everyone else cowers in fear of the Go Bear.

From NBA.Com

ANTHONY EDWARDS
12/05/2023 8:29:23 AM
Edwards (hip) is trending towards playing in Wednesday’s game against the Spurs, Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reports. Edwards returned to full practice Monday and got in some more work Tuesday. Coach Chris Finch said the team will see how he feels Wednesday before making a final decision, but this sounds very promising. If Edwards does get the green light, we'll see less of Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Troy Brown.

I don’t know why we would see less NAW and TBJ instead of less Shake. Both guys have been solid defensively and each one was huge in a game last week.

We'll see less of all 3. Edwards is going to soak up more than twice as many minutes as Shake would.

Definitely won't be less of NAW. He's playing the Jaden role. Less shot volume perhaps, but not less playing time.

Arod just showed up on TNT three weeks after Charles Barkley said if the Timberwolves play well for a few more weeks he will owe them an apology. I am guessing Arod is there to collect that apology in person.

I have my doubts about Mahomes talking up the Wolves to Chuck.

Even with the encouraging news about Ant's health and Finch saying he's likely to play, I just think there is little to gain playing him if he's not the proverbial 110%.

Edwards (hip) is available for Wednesday’s game against the Spurs, Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reports. Edwards missed Minnesota's last two games, but he fully participated in practice Monday and has been given the green light to return to action against San Antonio. Over his five appearances prior to his absence, he averaged 26.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 35.4 minutes per game.

The new CBA has a rule that to qualify for all NBA you must play 65 games or more. Ant probably wants to play in as many as he can, so that if he twists and ankle or gets some other short-mid term injury, he has as much as cushion as possible.

That rule might lead to a lot of limited minute games or is there a minimum minutes requirement with the rule?

Hey winforlose! Good to see you chime in.

I heard Ant is playing. I'm surprised. If there were ever a night to take off and make sure he's healed it's tonight.

Let's take care of business.

Thank goodness it’s not Doc Rivers on the broadcast tonight.
