Tough to compare individuals making such different contributions, but who would you say has helped the most?

A week ago I would have voted Rudy, but KAT has passed him.

KAT does it all. 5 bad games early then nothing but consistent dominance.

Rudy for sure, dude has transformed the team. He has fallen off the last 3 games or so but before that he was the lynchpin for everything. Towns struggled early. Ant has missed several games. Shoutout to Conely for being Mr. Glue though.

Rudy has had 3 quiet games in a row. I voted for KAT, but Rudy is probably the right answer.

Rudy, we aint top defense without him and the defense is the main reason for being at the top of the west but I fully expect Ant to be our most valuable in the playoffs though.

I think I could make a good case for any of these five, and there are no wrong answers. I certainly believe that we would be much worse if even one of those five was missing.

I struggled with my vote for a long time, and I eventually went Towns. Gobert looks like the favorite for the DPOY this year, and his DRtg is significantly better than any in the league. But Towns defensive metrics have been good too, so I think he is more valuable on both ends of the floor. 50/40/90 is nuts, and he sacrifices the most to empower his teammates.

Defensive Rating

1. Rudy Gobert • MIN 101.5
2. Karl-Anthony Towns • MIN 104.7
3. Alperen Şengün • HOU 105.0
4. Jabari Smith Jr. • HOU 105.4
5. Goga Bitadze • ORL 105.7
6. Kyle Anderson • MIN 106.2
7. Anthony Davis • LAL 106.2
8. Naz Reid • MIN 106.4
9. Jalen Suggs • ORL 107.0
10. Anthony Edwards • MIN 107.1

I think the thing that cannot be quantified is how much these guys seem to like and respect each other. Even Kyle and Rudy who had that dust up last year just seem to be 100% in sync. I think a lot of credit for that goes to KAT. He is the guy who gladly defers to Jimmy in 17-18. Makes tons of room for Ant to grow and develop. Welcomes Gobert with open arms and switches positions without a second thought. He embraced the vet leadership of James Johnson and Pat Bev. As great as Rudy is on the court, Karl is huge both on and off. He doesn’t have the ego of a guy who needs to the best on the team, and he just genuinely wants his teammates to succeed. Karl is the glue.

Gobert is the tone setter, and no one can do what he does. Towns is the best player, but his skills are more easily replaceable, especially with Naz behind him.

Looking at that list we should have signed Bitadze when the Pacers waived him, he would be learning from Rudy. Orlando got him for cheap, some luck involved w that, and they probably prefer him over carter Jr now.
