What will our beloved Wolves do this year? Who will surprise by making a giant leap? Who will disappoint by falling below expectations? Can Ant win his first MVP award? Will Rudy cement his legacy with an unprecedented fifth DPOY. I will start with three levels of predictions. One kind of safe. Another that might surprise. And one that goes out on a limb.

Safe: Ant will average over 28 points this season.

Surprise: By the end of the season Minot will be top eight in the rotation, playing over 20 minutes per game.

WOW: Our Wolves will take and make the most three pointers in league history.

Safe: We will set a franchise record for most 3PA in a season

Surprise: Donte Divicenzo will be starting by mid-season

WOW: Dillingham will be an afterthought to our season as we win 60+ games on the back of experience and leadership

(Bench predictions)

SAFE: Timberwolves bench units destroy other contenders benches.

SURPRISE: Keita Bates-Diop gets bench minutes by December, playing in front of Shannon.

WOW: Wolves compete with Thunder for best record in the West, as DEN and DAL fall back over injuries/depth issues.

4th seed in the west

Ant more efficient

Dilly finds game mid season

Shannon in rotation earlier than later

3rd seed in West
Top-10 offense
Top-5 defense
Finch will finally use load management
Rob will have 5+ 20pts games

Safe: We break GS record of 1,363 3s in a season. Would need about 17/game.

Surprise: 10 players will average in double figures (this would tie an NBA record).

WOW: NAW gets traded, lending minutes to TSJ. TSJ wins ROY.

ANT will be in the race for MVP.

We ended first at West

WOW: We got our first ring ( not that WOW actually)

SAFE: The Wolves end up with a top 4 playoff seed in the West

SURPRISE: Minott forces his way into the rotation leading to a NAW trade at the deadline

WOW: The offense ends the season rated in the top 5

SAFE: Timberwolves win the division

SURPRISE: Timberwolves are 1st in the conference.

WOW: Season Record 73-9

We basically replaced KAT, KA with DDV and Randle. Two players that has their shares of mental issues. Gobert and Conley are one year older. Hopefully Ant, Naz, JMcD, and Minott are one year wiser. Ingles looks like last year's Milton so far. Hopefully Dillingham could play 10 mins a game by mid season, maybe as much as JMcL last year.

So, is this team going back to conference finals if everyone is healthy? I think very likely. The only team that is clearly better is OKC. We should be fighting for top 4 with DAL, PHX, and DEN. Definitely will calibrate expectations again after 10 games or so.

This one is an interesting thought exercise. With as good as I think we will be, I think we should plan on two all-stars minimum. I think I personally expect Randle to be the second (or how crazy would it be to get Naz Reid there?!) but I like the DiVincenzo pick. He certainly has the name recognition from his time in both New York and Golden State to where people know who he is.
