Game 21: Wolves @ Clips

Post#1 » by Loaf_of_bread » Thu Dec 5, 2024 2:40 am

This will be the Wolves first time playing in the new Clippers arena, the Intuit dome. Clippers have been playing good basketball, yet the bettors must have liked something in our last game, as the wolves are 3.5 point favorites.

Let's build on our defensive trend last game, and continue sharing the ball on the offensive end.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
1. Last Matchup: 11/29/2024 | LAC 92 - MIN 93 | J.Harden: 20 PTS - A.Edwards: 21 PTS

2. The Clippers have gone 8-2 over their last 10 games, holding opponents to just 102.6 points per game. That is the fewest points per game allowed by a team over that span (since November 17).

3. Over his last two games, Norman Powell became the first player in NBA history to score at least 28 points and make at least five three-pointers while playing 25 or fewer minutes in consecutive games.

4. Ivica Zubac has led or been tied for the lead in offensive rebounds among all players in a game 18 times this season – the most of any player in the NBA. The only other player with more than 10 such games this season is Minnesota’s Rudy Gobert (12).

5. James Harden led the Clippers in both assists (seven) and plus/minus (+27) last game. Since the beginning of last season, Harden has led the Clippers in both categories in 15 games, which trails only Nikola Jokic (16 games) over that span.

STATS:
2023-24 OPPONENT COMPARISON

PPG FG% 3P% FT% REB AST STL BLK TOV
LAC 110.0 .468 .378 .776 45.1 25.3 9.4 4.4 16.5
MIN 111.1 .465 .373 .801

Will be a tough one for sure. We will see if we can be consistent more than 2 games in a row. Go Wolves!

Just don't let Harden jump into you for those BS 3pt fouls. Smart player though.

Thought he would regress years ago, and he’s playing good.

Dillingham out

For LAC: Kawhi, Mann, Kevin Porter and Norm Powell are all out.

Powell is actually leading the Clips in scoring this year.

Mike conley shouldn't start if this continues. He works better without Randle and ant.

I think the team has definitely turned a corner for the better. There will always be inconsistencies, but this is a clear level up for the group.

We will be able to trade Randle if we want. In fact, his trade return could end up closer to Towns' than you might think.

I think Randle is reading our threads.

And this stretch has been with the Randle-Reid frontcourt.

Naz is really moving out there. I don't remember Naz ever being as active on D as it's today.

Gobert is doing a little of everything. It's amazing to see the defensive rotation and shots just falling today.

DDV is just allergic to the rim. Can't even put in a layup.

Can one of you smarter minds fill me in as to why minott got run? Was there an advantageous matchup out there? Surprised to see it, but damn take advantage of your opportunity.
