If we get 27 FRP, it will allow TC to include 26 and 28 picks in a trade, rite?

Yes. As long as the 27 FRP would be unprotected or guaranteed to convey.

Raptors supposedly received multiple 1st round offers for #31 last year.

His shot looks good and he has nice athleticism , I am really mystified why he dropped out of top 20 in this draft. I assumed the Heat or Nets would have scooped him up. Wolves need this guy.

That’s hard to believe and they still kept it for Mogbo

I will be very annoyed if we don't choose Fleming

I have just realised that Fleming has standing reach and measurements identical to Jarrett Allen. It is crazy, crazy... Imagine Beringer/Fleming/McDaniels/Ant/Dillingham running the floor, hitting threes and defending

My ideal outcomes would be something like:

1. Trade for a future 1st (maybe get a later 2nd in this draft too)
2. Trade down with Charlotte for 33/34, assuming they want to jump Boston for a 5 and don't want to roster 4 rookies.
3. Take Noah Penda
4. Take Rasheer Fleming
5. Take Adou Thiero
6. Trade down and pick up an additional future 2nd or something small like that

Don't see much point in Raynaud or Kalkbrenner anymore.

Well, a little disappointed with the Beringer pick. Idk what to expect for today since the guys I liked are gone.

I love the pick I am disappointed Connelly didn’t get the assets washington got from Utah for (18)Clayton Jr. I think JB would have been there at 21 and some extra seconds are alwayss nice.

Matt Lloyd is pretty entertaining and comfortable behind the mic.

I think this is right. I’m wondering if the most likely outcome is we trade 31 to a really good team for an unprotected 2027 FRP, which would allow us to trade our 26 or 28 FRP. For example, the Spurs were rumored to really like Raynaud, who is one of Wemby’s best friends, as someone that could play in double big lineups.

As far as players, Fleming, Penda, and Thiero are the only ones that make sense. I could see any of those guys going 31. I like the idea of Fleming. But the Pacers/Thunder taught us that 1-4, we need guys that can pass, shoot, dribble. I’m going off scouting reports, but the BBIQ is questioned on both ends, he shot it for only one year and it’s a form I don’t know if it’ll translate, and he can’t dribble. I could see TC liking Penda more. Penda is a version of Kyle Anderson, who Finch loved.

In the Lloyd video, he said he was sweating bullets that Beringer would be there still at 17. Not worth risking it if you like a guy as much as it seemed like they liked Beringer.

Depends on how many other players they liked at the time. If Beringer was their "main" guy, but they had several others they really liked,.the cost to move up may have been too much and you hope your main guy drops while having several others you would be happy with instead

He was their "main" guy in the press conference

idk, I get the feeling they wouldn't now. They picked up Beringer, and still have Miller as developmental bigs. Miller is not much older than Fleming, but probably ahead of him in all areas besides defensive playmaking potential. A 3rd developmental big would be a lot.

These are all my options as well, I'd bump Thiero to the #3 spot, but him or Penda make a lot of sense as a bigger defensive wing. Thiero plays with so much energy while being maybe the best athlete in the class. Worth taking a chance.

A lot of places had Penda ranked higher than Fleming, so I'm wondering what the Wolves think there. To be honest, I didn't really get it when watching his highlights and scouting videos.

Givony: Noah Penda was drawing looks from teams in the first round thanks to his strong defensive versatility, passing and overall feel for the game, but he couldn't gain enough traction in the predraft process because of his streaky shooting.

He'll likely be a popular target for playoff teams picking in the 30s, such as Minnesota, Boston or Philadelphia, that might prefer to stash a player in Europe to preserve roster flexibility. He will likely prefer to come to the U.S. immediately if he can find a team willing to roster him, however.
