Bucks get:
Wolves first in 08 unprotected
Craig Smith
Antoine Walker
Marco Jaric
Greg Buckner
Mark Madsen

Do you give up the first to add a star in Michael Redd and team him with Big Al?
I don't know your roster that well but I suppose if everyone's healthy you trot out a rotation something like:

Foye/Telfair
Redd/McCants
Green/Gomes/Brewer
Villanueva/Al
Al/Gadzuric/Doleac

I wouldn't give up the potential top pick in the draft, but I'd give up the MIA 1st plus Gomes or Telfair.

Redd's nice, but he's expensive, and he plays a position where there are already a lot of talented players in the nba. He doesn't seem to be playing team basketball, which is a concern with a contract that big. I think we're a ways off from being a competitive team, so getting Redd now seems like throwing away $12 mil next season.

Jaric's trade value > Gadzuric's trade value.

I'd be happy to move Walker and Buckner, but they expire in 16 months.

Madsen I'm ambivalent about moving. 3rd string talent, but he's paid a 3rd string wage, and he's #1 with wolves in the community and on the bench.

I have no strong feelings on Charlie Villaneueva either way. I wish he had the slightest interest in defense.

I think its a good package though I don't think its something I'd be willing to trade potentially the first pick in the draft away for.

I wouldn't do it. We need to build this thing from the ground up. This would just seem to be a shortcut to being a borderline playoff team.

Wow, that's ugly for the Wolves.

On the trade board, a Milwaukee fan proposed Theo/Doleac/Brewer for Redd and Gadz, and I wouldn't even do that for the Wolves. Redd should be dealt to a contender, not to a bottom dweller.

Redd is the kind of guy I wish we could have acquired when KG was here. Now? Like others have already stated, its either throwing $12 million away for Redd to play on a bottom-feeder, or at best, we become a borderline playoff team.

the fact that anybody would think that milwaukee would give up villanueva and redd for a bunch of salary dumps and a pick is absolutely ridiculous

if we knew that green, foye, and mccants were going to develop consistency and be big time scorers, then it would be an awesome trade..but since all 3 of them arent anywhere close to being consistent, the deal doesnt really help us build a future..also the deal is a disgrace for milwaukee, plain and simple..they get screwed far more than we do in a deal like that

Wolves couldn't deal that pick until after the lottery anyway, since it's technically the Clippers until it is officially top 10.

If it was the Miami pick different story. I'd consider that as we'd be getting the best player in the deal with Redd and a center that could help (although far from ideal). CV is an enigma. He looked better than expected in Toronto, but has regressed. Otherwise the only value outside the pick for long term would be Smith.

Wouldnt even consider the deal for the Wolves. I agree that Miamis pick and Bostons makes more sense, but what talent would you add with Theo & Doleac. McCants?

None; not that I don't think Michael Redd is worth it, but this isn't the right place for him. I can think of about... 29 teams Michael Redd is a better fit for than the rebuilding Wolves.

Sorry, I just don't know why we need Michael Redd. The trade basically helps Milwaukee rebuild and us in a situation where we have a star on our hands with nowhere to go.

anyone notice that, Redd is leading a team with talent, and they arent in the playoffs. so him leading this team improves us by about 15 games, maybe 20. we still suck more penis than a veitnamese hooker
