The coaching this season has been very poor, yes while the players are also responsible for all the losses there is still yet to be any real certainty when it comes to rotations and peoples set role within the team.

While no one expected a whole lot from this season im pretty sure we expected a better record than this, and i think a large part of it is the coach unfortunately.

Skiles was doing a good job for the past few years in Chicago while the team was very young and helped develop guys like Deng/Gordan/Hinrich etc.

While he fell from grace this season you could also say he was the fall guy for what has been a disappointing bulls team so far.

So anyway, do you guys think the Wolves should/could/will look at bringing Skiles in, and would it help?

I just don't like Skiles because he is too strict and limits a player's talent.
Look at Tyson Chandler. He looked like a foul prone bust on the Bulls, and he just had a 22/22 game last night with his Hornets team. Skiles wants things his way and his way only, he would constantly keep our players in the dog house because of this teams inconsistency, and i'm sure Shaddy and G$ would be pissed with the no headband rule.

I like Mike Fratello and Dwane Casey, but too bad those two wouldn't come here.

Skiles is an idiot, and his teams have done better immediately after he got canned. He, nor any other outside coach, would want this team anyhow. If Wittman gets canned, this team is Sichting's for the rest of the season.

I'm not, nor have I ever been a fan of Wittman. With that said, we can't keep having this revolving door with the head coach position.

I thought Flip got canned unfairly. The only reason why I thought it might be a good idea is because he lost respect from his players. Players come and go however.

I thought Casey was a scapegoat as well. He may not be ready to be a head coach, but there was no one else we could get that would do better.

Im gonna go with RC on this one. I dont like Skiles at all. You can say he did well with the youth in the up-bringing, but Ben Gordon has been inconsistent his entire career. Noah has done nothing. TT is an athletic freak so he really only gets by on that. Sefalosha and Duhon have been relatively average and Heinrich has taken steps backward this season.

i would say getting skiles for about two years would be good for you.. He is good with young players. He did real good with the bulls.. yeah he made a few dumb moves but he did keep all these young guys under control.. I think he will do you good. and once your young guys start getting better then get a new coach

Inaccurate and misleading. Skiles was 25-26 when he left Phoenix. The Suns went 11-20 the rest of the year under Frank Johnson. Johnson went 44-38 the next year, but by that time, Amare and Joe Johnson were on board. The next year, Amare got hurt, Marbury was traded and a rookie Barbosa took over PG duties, D'Antoni replaced Johnson and the Suns sucked. The year after that, Nash was brought in.

The Bulls weren't setting the world on fire under Skiles, but they've been mediocre at best without him. They're 4-3 and haven't beaten anyone of consequence, far too soon to anoint them as seriously improved.

That being said, I'd rather not bring in Skiles. He seems like he'd wear out his welcome too soon to be a long term answer, and if/when we can Wittman, I'd like to bring in more stability than that to replace him.

4-3 is seriously improved for the Bulls this year, and those three losses were @SAS, by 2 points vs. ORL, and by 6 points vs. a streaking POR team. Bulls were going no where under Skiles, suddenly they're only 2 1/2 games out of the playoffs in the sucktacular Eastern Conference.

I'm just saying that the wins came against the Knicks, Bucks, Bobcats and Kings (heck, we even beat the Kings), hold off on the parade.

I don't like Skiles at all. Why is it that the NBA just keeps recycling fired coaches. You would think there would be more than 20 coaches (condsidering at least 10 NBA coahces now probably aren't very good) that would make a very good NBA coach.

After all no matter if all 30 teams improve to be spectacular NBA teams there is still always going to be a winner and loser in every game.

Couple points to mention.

1-) Common knowledge Witt did not want the head job but took it because he was asked. He is a great asst coach, but is not the X/O guy for a head coach. What he does bring is a discipline and a teaching that will help the young players develop for the future. Win/loss do not matter as much this year but the development is essential.

2.) If we were to replace Wittman (hopefully a situation where we keep Witt as an asst) it would be in the offseason when we can interview college coaches and assistants from other teams.

3.) Skilles is almost abusive. He could create more damage then good perhaps.

Do we really want to go the college route?

I would rather go "asst" then college route. Unless there was a cant miss college guy, but he is stuck in florida.

I've never understood why a good-to-great college coach would want to take a job in the NBA. That doesn't have anything to do with this topic, though.

Fun fact about Skiles to make up for it: When Skiles was drafted by the Bucks, he was incarcerated and Nellie had to call him in prison to tell him the news.

Would Van Gundy come back into coaching?

To coach the Wolves? It would takes bags and bags of money.
