I wish they could give a definite date on his return. I can't wait till he gets back, but they should start him out at 10-15 minutes per game and work his way up into a starting role.

What, you're a Cowboys fan? And I had so much respect for you.

I'm tired of waiting though. It still looks like he is weeks away from being on the court. I guess whoever said February was right.

Nova fan here.
Very afraid his explosiveness wont be the same. I just hope he doenst rush anything especially since the Wolves are going no where this year.

His explosiveness wll be fine. This is not a microfracture. This was not even surgury so there is no reason for his knee to be less than it was before.
He obviously is not rushing anything.
Wittman was on Kfan and he mentioned that Foye would not be at the 1 the majority of the time, but he wants him coming off the ball as well. He would probably see equal time at the 1 and the 2. That is really interesting.

but...we don't have any other good point guards...

That is the interesting part of it. Wonder if we will play Foye as an off guard and Jaric as a point, but with a defensive switch. Dunno. It is just an interesting comment from Wittman.

I actually think a Telfair/Foye backcourt would be pretty productive in spurts. Both could fall back into their strengths, rather than trying to do too much. Bassy would be able to solely focus on creating for others while Foye could focus on what he does best - score the basketball.

Only problem with that is Bassy is not effective as a defender for the whole game and with his size he gets worn down by pressure. Also he is literally unable to make layups which make any type of pick/roll uneffective (shad has done better) and he cannot spot up enough to make the defense honest.
That being said, I like him as a back-up with us.

Foye's defense is underrated. I know he gamble's a lot on his man, but he has the brute strength + quickness to harass his opponent into either a bad shot, or a bad pass.

I like Foye's defense. Being that we run a simple offense I see no reason Foye cannot jump into the 1 and just attack.

Oh no doubt, that's why I said I thought that lineup would be effective in spurts. You're absolutely right, if you play them together for extended minutes then their deficiencies will be exposed in a big way.

Oh, ok. yea. I agree. I am a fan of the 3 guard rotation and I think Foye/Shad/Bassy would work fine with that. Of course that would mean moments of Foye with bassy and I think there could be value there. But only a gimick, not long term.

From the Star Tribune:
Soreness delays Foye's return
Timberwolves guard Randy Foye's return to full practices is expected to be delayed until next week because of muscle soreness that coach Randy Wittman likened to what Foye's teammates experienced in training camp in October.
On Monday, Wittman was hopeful Foye could participate in contact practice Wednesday or today for the first time since October, but he is expected only to run and jump today and is not scheduled to accompany the team on a three-game Western road trip that opens Friday in Phoenix.
Foye, out all season because of a kneecap stress reaction, will stay behind and work on his own. He might participate fully in practice for the first time on Tuesday after the team returns home.
"We need to get him through that training-camp soreness before we get him in there live," Wittman said. "We don't want him to go out there with soreness and compensate for it by doing something else to himself. We've got to be smart here."

The soreness isn't great, but it's not terrible as you'd pretty much expect that going from rehab into training camp type work outs is a pretty big jump.
We are getting close to that February return though.

Yea I read that. I knew that was going to happen. He probably wont be back until Feb. Like that guy said. I really wanted to see him in the rook Soph game this year too.
