highlights from the thread:
Kaman was misdiagnosed with ADD at age 2 and a half. This summer it was corrected and he got the proper treatment. His brain was in overdrive or something and now he has addressed that. This is apparently the reason for his improved play. His IQ was tested at the 99.9 percentile

which I think makes him an official genius. Wow.

Is that the 99.9 percentile for modern or paleolithic times?

Not smart enough to know when he needed a haircut the last few years.
99.5% equals a 139 IQ on the Stanford Binet, and 141 on the Wexler, and 140 (some say 130) is a "genius." Note that the word "genius" is really a layman's term. There are many people who have a very high IQ, but don't have the spark of innovation that would make people think "genius." I tend to look at someone's high marks demonstrating that he or she is smart and is good at taking IQ tests.
Interestingly for Kaman, if he really scorer 99.9%, most tests don't go any higher. For example, if you get a section all right on Wexler, you might get a score of "146-and-up." I doubt he got further assessment from a psychometrician with more advanced tests, so perhaps he has an IQ far higher?
Personally, I suspect he is an "evil genius" and perhaps has an undersea lair off Malibu where he plots world domination.

Apparently geniuses get so bored with the banalties of NBA life that they get strange urges to sail to international waters and shoot guns at fish. I love Chris Kaman.
This thread is hilarious.

I don't wanna brag, but I scored in the 99th percentile on my SRA test in 5th grade

back in 5th grade I used to dominate them too. didn't have such a test but I guess I would have been considered genius as well or slightly less than genius.
but look at what happened then... I used to lose focus and POW now I consider myself smart but not that outstanding
