I would be more then fine having Bassy as our backup.

No complaints here, I really hope he stays here, he looks like he is becoming the player everyone thought he could be, well..I mean in flashes.

Agreed. I think with Foye back and Telfair playing less than 40 minutes a game will probably improve his play as well.

I really hope he stays. If he stays for cheap, it would be even better. I'd love to see him and Foye out on the floor together.

He's very solid now and would be a great backup, if he's willing to take that role. I'm sure some other team will overpay for him, though.

It will be really interesting to see how it works out with foye back. It may eliminate the need, if there ever was, of drafting Rose. I would like to be in a position to be able to draft the BPA.

Do you think a 3 guard rotation of Foye, McCants and Telfair (even if small) can be a playoff caliber rotation? If so, I say we draft Jordan and trade smith for Frye and resign Gomes (and telfair).

Heck yea. Let's keep this man around. As long as he is affordable. He'd be a great back up for now and he could start if he had too.

I want him back. For a decent tag. He is 22, is a "true" pg, and I agree with less minutes his performance would improve.

unless mccants improves his consitency and decision making ability...i currently favor a 3 guard rotation of foye/bassy/rose.

well I think that are nice news to read. it always makes me happy if players say that they want to resign with us and we could need them. especially with our current record but I guess bassy sees a future here.

what do you think he'll demand? 3-4 mill per year or more?

Im glad he said this. Although his attitude has been excellent this season i still wondered if his ego was was driving him to play well just to get a contract. Im still worried if another team were to throw an obscene amount of money at him, we he still want to be here.

Meh, as I said in the draft thread, I don't think there's a lot of difference between 4 and 9 or 10 this year, assuming everybody comes out. 7 could be Greene or Mayo or Hibbert. That's certainly not the end of the world.

And the Wolves would have to turn it around in historic fashion to finish as low as 6th or 7th. Right now, the Sixers are 6th-to-last, and they're 16-27, on pace for 31 wins, but at even 27 wins the Wolves would have to go 20-21 the rest of the season to match that. Not likely, but a turnaround like that might even be worth it.

For comparison, only three teams finished with less than 30 wins last year and the year before that. 5 teams in 2004-05, 6 in 2003-04, 2002-03, 2001-02, 2000-01, and 1999-2000.

There was two minutes in the fourth quarter last night that Telfair played better than I ever saw him. I certainly don't think he's guaranteed a spot here, particularly with a qualifying offer of $3.5 mil, and a chance the best player available at out spot in the 2008 draft is a PG. However, if he can demonstrate that same level of play, consistently, I'd be happy to sign him to that contract.

I think Telfair can feel that with all the young PG talent entering the league, and so many vets as well, that its going to be harder and harder to keep a job in the NBA.

Telfair is a good backup PG who can be a spot starter here and there. I think he brings a good, different look of the bench with his speed.
