Stromile on the block

He could be a temporary stop gap for us at C for next year, which would just give us some time and flexibility to find a better option.

Doleac + Buckner for Swift would work.

They might find a better option out there though if they were just looking for an expiring. In that case a little less friendly deal like Doleac + Green, or Buckner + Green would work.

He has a 6.2 million dollar player option for next year, which he undoubtedly will take. I would at least consider this, depending on what else we have cooking.

As a 1 year stop gap, I'd probably be interested. I wouldn't do Doleac and Green since their both expiring, but including Buckner would be fine.

Does he play good at 5?

I'm not a big fan of Swift's. He's been around for about seven years and hasn't shown much. I'd rather Richard gets an opportunity next year so we see can what he's capable of.

Consistently, I'd say no. He's shown moments in the past.

maybe give us a Wilcox type player if we give him the minutes, but he's still ultimately a PF

I heard Stromile had issues with the coach last night when he took him out of the game, so he might be had even cheaper than that.

I don't have much faith in him after all this time, but I'd give him a shot if it didn't hurt us financially. The deal I heard was coming was

NJN GETS: Swift
MEM GETS: Collins

I'd like to slide in on that deal

MEM GIVES: Swift
MEM GETS: Collins

same deal

NJN GIVES: Collins + Magloire
NJN GETS: Walker + Doleac

Magloire hasn't asked for a trade, but he is unhappy. His numbers are worse than Doleac's, and he makes about $1 mil more. Walker is a 2-year deal like Swift and Collins, and he costs a bit more, but he's also the most productive player as well. This deal clears out more room at center for Sean Williams and Josh Boone, and Krstic should be back soon too.

MIN GIVES: Walker + Doleac (exp)
MIN GETS: Swift + Magloire (exp)

I want to see what Jefferson does at PF. Magloire used to be a decent defensive center two teams ago, and Swift is at least physical. This shaves $1 mil off this year, and $2 mil the next, so I like that too.

swift is 6'9 225, he is a 4 not a 5.

He actually spends time at the 5 in Memphis. Albeit there's really no one else to play center for them.

If Wolves can break into the NJ/MEM Collins for Swift swap, I'd rather have Collins.

I'd rather have Swift, but its a moot point now. Wolves don't make trades unless they're controversial and are guaranteed to piss off at least 50% of the fan base. Ariza for garbage? no no, can't do that. Swift for garbage? No, sorry, we're not interested.

I like that deal. I think Walker would help NJ at PF. Swift is undersized at C, but would he be able to provide a body and some rebounds like Joe Smith did for us? Heck, we even had LaPhonso Ellis at 6'7" playing center for us just to keep KG at PF.

Too late Swift is going for Collins straight up.

Looks like it's close to being done. Sounds like they're doing this more to rid themselves of Swift's attitude as they're not gaining anything with the contract.

If they're really desperate to save money would Madsen and Doleac for Darko interest anyone?

I like Darko's game a little, but he's beyond immature.
