Jaric, Madsen, Buckner comment on trade deadline

Nice to see the professionalism.

Wolves guard Marko Jaric when asked if he thinks much about the trade deadline: "I do, yes. I definitely wish to play on a contender in the playoffs and try to compete for a championship. But you know what? For me right now, it's not fair, being a starting guard on this team to think about being somewhere else. So, as long as I'm here, my head is going to be here and I'm going to be 100 percent for this team and for these guys."

Forward Mark Madsen: "I think it's always something where you wonder, 'Could I be next?' That's part and parcel of being an NBA basketball player. A lot of players on our team have experienced multiple trades throughout our careers. I would never embrace a trade at this stage of my career, given my comfort level and the home I feel I have found here in Minnesota. But you never know what the future holds."

Guard Greg Buckner: "I don't know. I enjoy being here, I appreciate the opportunity Mr. Taylor [owner Glen Taylor] has given me. If he wants to move me, I understand that. If he doesn't, I understand that, too. I'd like to play more, but it's not in the cards right now. So we'll wait and see what happens. I'm not OK with sitting on the bench, but I'm not trying to ruffle feathers or nothing like that. I'm not going in there saying, 'Trade me, trade me.' Not at all."

Glad to see our veterans being very classy and it's good to know they are on this team to help the young pups go through the motions and reality of the NBA.

I've never done this before, but Mark Madsen, you now have amnesty from all the trades I create.

I hope Madsen is in Minnesota for the next 30 years.

I wouldn't be surprised if he had a job in the FO after he retires.

I think Madsen realizes he is lucky to be in the NBA at this stage, making the money he is making.

I don't dislike the guy, but I think we all realize his role. A body for practice, a cheer-leading bench warmer, and an extreme annoyance to Tim Duncan.

If I had the body for it (I'm a shorty), I would do that for 45K a year, as long as I could get my old job back when I am done.

I recently read an article with Maddog saying he definitely would NOT want to be traded. He loves it here. A lot of low key players do. I think Minneapolis is enough of a city to where if they want to have some city fun they can but it's also a lot less noisy and abrasive as some of the other major cities. So those types of players like living in the metro area. I know Blount really liked where he lived and I think he still owns his house there. Alot of players lay down tracks here.

yeah i was talking with some mormon missionaries once and we talked about mark madsen. turns out the temple in bloomington built a court for him to practice. the missionaries evidently were there when he was practicing and he challenged them to a 2 on 1.

Good to see Madsen likes it here. Always good to see players who love the cities they play in.

Maybe he could become a member of the front office somehow in the future, ala Fred.

As far as Bucker...I feel bad for him. He's not a bad player. He's just in a dead end situation. I hope he gets moved so he has the opportunity to play more for another team.

Buckner's not very good, either.

I had high hopes for him after the opener. It's been downhill ever since.
