MN:
C: Jefferson/Ratliff/Augustine
PF:Smith/Walker/Richard
SF:Gomes/Brewer
SG:Jaric/Reddick
PG: Telfair/Foye/Arroyo
MN gets some possible shooting with Reddick, a shot blocking center to put along Al next year and another late 1st.

Nets:
C: Diop/Boone
PF: Williams/Swift
SF: Jefferson/Hassel/Green
SG: McCants/Ager/Green
PG: Harris/Williams
NJ gets a couple of young 2/3's in McCants and Green to fill the hole left at the 2 with the previous trade.

Magic:
C: KrsticFoyle/Doleac
PF: Howard/Cook
SF: Lewis/Turkoglu
SG: Carter/Buckner
PG: Nelson/Armstrong
Orl gets VC, Buckner who has year longer than Battie, but cheaper per year and is also a pretty good defender who with all the young guys in MN that need time has no minutes here. Doleac is serviceable, expiring, but can play this year as opposed to Battie.

Just incase NJ would be interested I'd send Ratliff and the Bos or Orl 1st for Jefferson if they really want to clear space, as I think he'd be a great fit here. I know this last part is a dream, but I'd even send them both out if it were an option.

I think ORL gets a helluva deal. they give up almost nothing. they basically lose no production. the only thing that I call a real asset they lose is their pick which won't be that good anyway with vince on that team.

and I wouldn't want to do this trade from minny perspective either because I'd only give up mccants if we also get rid of all the longer contracts.

YES I'm a mccants homer but I wouldn't want to see him traded for this package. they pick won't be that great anyway as I said it before because if this deal goes through the magic will be a top5 team (talentwise at least) and in the weak eastern conference I think they could crack the top2 with that lineup

edit: and NJ won't trade Krstic when they want to rebuild. they still have hopes in him

Why would the Nets do this?

its basically Mccants for riddick/orl 1st (which will be 24 plus)

its not worth it silly trade we move all exspirys plus mccants and get crap back :nonono:

I don't mind this so much ...

.. but there has to be some compensation, and this one costs us production, talent, and money. Greg Buckner has a buy-out next year for $1 mil that's not listed on many websites, so he expires in the Summer of 2009. MIN has made several trades to line up its expirings for then, as Juwon Howard, Antoine Walker, Troy Hudson and Buckner all expire then. Battie is one more year of waiting.

We've discussed Battie for Jaric before, who I think would work well in ORL. The wolves are one of the few teams that could absorb a player that's out for the year. However, Jaric > Battie, so I wouldn't do it in this deal.

I agree, we would pass. 82_au is right that it is basically a Reddick + late orlando pick for McCants, while Reddick has shown just as much potential as Gerald Green, if not less thus far.

I think NJ might actually consider this. I think Carter's deal has negative value at this point. To get McCant's plus expiring is probably as close as it would get for them. If they were looking to rebuild they could save a lot of $ by shedding Carter and actually getting his cheap replacement in McCants.

Event though for value's sake Orlando should throw in the rights to Vasquez to someone here, as currently structured, not sure Orlando does this actually. Although they're not giving up very much, they have a lot of future salary already committed. I don't know if they'd take on Carter's near max deal (or max?) deal in addition to Howard and Rashard Lewis.

that's a good point but I guess after all these trades recently it a) wouldn't be surprising at all and b) would be a goal for ORL to get as much talent as possible on their roster
