Kidd to the Mavs in 8 player trade appears to be a go

Post#1 » by Cy32 » Tue Feb 19, 2008 5:14 am

Hassell on the move again in probably one of many to come. He doesn't seem to be any more of a difference maker for a good team (Dallas) than he was for the Wolves.

In stories at RealGM it says the Mavs will send five players to New Jersey for three players in return. In another article they say if the deal goes down the Mavs will waive or release either Howard or one other player so I wonder what the Nets will do. Since the Nets already have a 15 man roster they will have to release at least two players or trade them for picks (if they can in fact do that with a recently acquired player).

I would like to know the availability of Marcus Williams...he's not really needed anymore considering the fact the Nets now have Devin Harris to run the show for 5+ years.

I obviously wouldn't go crazy trading assets to get him, just something to look into...

I was wrong about the Nets already having a 15 man roster. I was looking at the Net's players stat page. I guess they have already in some way pared their roster as they only have 13 on their roster page.

I don't know anything about Marcus Williams but I see from his stat page that he is a very good free throw shooter but only has a 32% field goal percentage this season.

He just came off an injury since the season started; I would imagine his shooting % would be down.

We don't need to bring in another unproven guard. We already have two that we are examining to be the starting floor general this season.

Yea I dont really see a need for Williams here. Im also not necessarily in favor of getting Lowry either, but he would be cheaper to acquire. Im interested to see the possibility of a Green for Antoine Wright swap. He's a young D minded 2G that I have always secretly pulled for. They both expire and Green isnt a part of our plans. If we could get Wright I think it would be a solid move.

Well its official, and it turns out Wright was included so I guess that nullifies my idea
