Nick Fazekas dropped by Mavs

Post#1 » by Krapinsky » Tue Feb 19, 2008 7:12 pm

Any interest? I think he's a better prospect than Richard. Everyone on this board loves Frye (who I hate), and isn't Fazekas just Frye with more range on his shot? He might compliment Al nicely. At the same time I'd hate to see Richard go, but if Fazekas is the better prospect then might as well pick him up.

I think waiving green would be a better idea since it seems we aren't trying to ship him off.Im all for it

That is definitely something to consider if we do any 2-1 trades.

Can Fazekas play C though? I thought he was strictly a 4?

Im all for giving him a look but I'm with UNC....I'd drop Green (or Doleac) before Richard.

Wasnt Fazekas supposed to be McHale-like coming out of colleage, with a decent post game? I cant recall anymore.

Play C? Can Frye? Can Richard? No, No, and I don't think Fazekas could either. He'd be a backup at the four, and for spurts Al could slide to the 5 with Fazekas at the 4.

I'd drop Doleac. Fazekas was 20-10 in the D-League.

How about Doleac + Smith for Elson + Spurs 2008 #1? (or a similar trade) Then we pick up Fazekas.

We get a 5, a late first, and Fazekas, for Smith (not needed w/ Fazekas and Gomes), and Doleac.

I'd do that deal too.

I liked Fazekas coming out of college. Very interested in picking him up. Even though he's like 6'10 or 6'11" I thought he was more of a SF due to his shooting range and physique. Either way he'd be a nice player to add to the mix, especially after a 2 for 1 trade.

Pass on Fazekas. He's a slightly more skilled version of Rick Rickert (who was a D-League All-Star last season). He has very slow feet, a weak body, and he sucks defensively.
