The Wolves are no match for the Wild
When the Wild and Wolves went head-to-head on Tuesday night, the hockey team's 3-2 overtime loss to Vancouver had a 3.8 rating and 6 share on FSN; the Wolves' 104-88 victory over Philadelphia had a 1.2 rating and 2 share on KSTC.

TNT's coverage of the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday had a 0.8 rating in the Twin Cities, placing this market last among the 56 metered markets in the United States. That means 13,654 households in this area watched the game. By comparison, last month's NHL All-Star contest on Versus had a 2.1 rating (35,841 households) in Minneapolis-St. Paul. That placed fifth out of the metered markets.

Of course. People don't give a damn about NBA basketball over here. Wolves are at the bottom of the ladder in Minnesota. Vikings, Twins, Wild, Gophers football/basketball/Hockey,Wolves.
There may be other sports I missed. We could win back to back titles here and the best we could hope for is coming in 4th, and even getting that high is unlikely.

A big part of that is that Wolves suck and the Wild don't.

Does anyone worry that if the Wolves don't get better quickly theres a chance they will be moved from Minnesota?
On the other hand, is there a market they could move to that would fair any better?

No that's a small part. Wolves could be a good team and the situation would still be Wild>>>>>Wolves. The wolves would still sell out games and have nice fan support but the Wild will nearly always eclipse the in popularity. The Wild would probably have to be absolutely horrendous to fall behind the wolves.

I disagree. The North Stars didn't exactly sell out every game. The Wild have benefitted from being new and having just enough success to maintain their popularity. You have to remember the Wolves extremely popular their first few years. I think they actually set single season attendance records.

only time ill really watch the wild is playoff time.
paying attention to the NHL on tv is like watching paint dry..although in person, its more fun to watch then basketball
