Sebastian Telfair

Post#1 » by TheRussBill » Sat Feb 23, 2008 4:55 am

Hey Twolves fans I'm a big Celtic fan but was really a big Telfair guy last year when he was in Boston. I am wondering how is Bassy doing for you guys? I saw a few games where he made some very nice looks as well as some nice drives. How is he progressing?

personally I hope we resign him. Either to be a very good 6th man back-up pg. Or maybe even as a starter. His jumper is getting better, but it is still a weak spot. His finishing is getting better as well, but still a weak spot. His overall size hurts him as a starting pg, but makes a great change of pace pg.

If we have him as a back-up the next 8 years I will be very happy. I have enjoyed him a lot.

I'm also really pleased by bassy's performance here. before the season started I was close to being a hater but he let me eat crow but I have no problem to do that.

I hope we'll resign him this summer

ast/TO is great.

If he improves his jumper (very likely) and hits the weight room he can be a starter.

hmm, Brewer and Bassy should work out together this summer. Spend the summer at uncle Freddy's house. Maybe bring back Tom Hammonds to teach them to lift.

Agreed on all counts. He's already shown he can be a very good backup. If he gets the jumper down he could be an above average starter or better. Him and Brewer should just stay in MN in the offseason and practice jumpers and lift.

There is not plausible way we do not sign this kid, unless McHale goes back to his Troy Hudson days. He should be asking for a reasonable price and we better give it to him....

I can see a Foye-McCants-Telfair three way rotation for the next 5 years very easily.

Ya i don't see us not resigning him this offseason. He's done well for us and has even said he wants to stay here. If he improves his jumpshot as well as his ability to finish around the rim he could be a really nice player in this league.

I doubt Bassy will try to gain much bilk because he did last season for Boston and he lost a lot of speed. The summer before this season he lost that bulk to get his quickness back. But he can always get stronger without getting bigger.

If there is a solid 3 man rotation where Bassy is playing 18-20 uptempo instead of the 38 min when Foye was at then Bassy does not need to add the bulk. The only thing bulk helps him with is not wearing down and guarding bigger points. But with FOye back he does not need to do that.

I like that 3 man group also.

Go to the KFAN board. You'd love it over there.

Why do you post if you just complain? Try and offer something of value perhaps.

Randy Foye has qualities that Brandon Roy doesn't. He is much more explosive, he is quicker, a better one on one defender and he is a better three point shooter. Give it some time and there will be as many people who prefer Randy to Roy as there are vice versa.

looks like someone's been drinking the purple kool-aid.

I think it's safe to say Roy is > Foye in all facets of the game right now. I think it's pretty clear that Roy was the best player to come out of that draft, with Gay being number 2.

everyone knows that I have never liked foye that much. I dont realistically ever see him being a starter in this league. Maybe a combo gaurd of the bench.

The way I look at is he is a below average point gaurd and a very undersized and not a good shooting sg.
Everyone in the nba world would take roy over foye now but thats all hindsight garbage. The front office made a mistake not like its the first time its happend.

Back to the main subject Bassy. I hated on him when he first got hear, thought he was just a a little wnat to be marbury ganster. But he has really changed my mind with his stellar play and positive additude. I would keep him around for the future.
