I am loving his hussle and attitude so far. If he keeps this up, he'll definitely have a spot for next year.

I haven't been able to see him play yet since I took a little vacation. We share the same last name, though, so I'll join the fan club based on that. :D

He did a really good job I thought when he had to guard Green and Durant. He was hustling big time out there and I have actually been very surprised with him. Im on the wagon now too.

I've been happy with what I've seen so far. Meanwhile, Gerald has only gotten 4 minute since the trade.

I'm in. He really looks like he wants to be a part of this team. He brings energy and defensive intensity every night. I love it when he drives to the basket. He knows when to finish and when to dish. Snyder is better than GG in every way besides GG has a slight advantage in athleticism and scoring ability. Snyder absolutely blows gerald out of the water in his knowledge of the game, defense, intensity, passing ability, and likeability. Welcome to the timberwolves kirk.

Im actually impressed my Snyder. He's sort of a combo of Madsen + Gomes. High energy + smart. I wasn't thrilled with the deal originally, but this guy really wants to play. I like him!

I have always liked snyder, do we have him through next year? I don't quite understand the qualifying offer? I still wish we could have given GG a little more burn. DOn't know if anybody caught the rockets game last night, but GG has the TExas star shaved in the back of his head, combine that with the Houston tatoo how can't the rockets resign him. But GG is sol in htown because there aint no way hes getting run in front of landry and that deep bench.
Looks like Snyder plays better D than Gomes, I think that with Snyder showing what he can do makes you think about needing the both of them or not?

As I understand Larry Coon's CBA FAQ:

In order to make an applicable FA an RFA, a team must tender a qualifying offer, which is a 1 year contract at 125% of what they were making the previous year. If the offer is accepted, the player becomes a UFA the next year. The offer is not commonly accepted, but makes sense for players in certain situations. Pietrus is on a QO contract with GS right now. It may make sense for Bassy and/or Snyder to play on a QO contract next year.

More commonly, the QO is tendered so that the players become RFAs, but either 1) The player signs to an offer sheet from another team (which must be for at least two years); once a player signs an offer sheet, that becomes their contract, either for the team that they signed with (if the original team declines to match) or the original team if they match. Hassell signed an offer sheet with Portland, the Wolves chose to match. The other option is 2) The original team and the player negotiate a contract other than the qualifying offer.

There are other rules if a player is tendered a maximum offer (like LeBron, Melo, ect.) but that obviously won't apply to our guys this summer.

He's what I hoped Hassell would have been after signing his new contract. Instead he just got lazy.

http://www.nba.com/timberwolves/news/ge ... 80303.html

MT: What's the word regarding your first week in Minnesota?
Snyder: The brilliance. I go in structures, I'm walking around, and I'm observant because I've been a lot of places. The architecture, the people, the artistic side of things that are here is pretty amazing ... Like the skyway that goes across the city. That's pretty brilliant, that's pretty cool. There's nothing like it in the whole world. Just seeing that type of stuff, the artistic side. I ate for the first time, I went to J.D. Hoyts, and I ate lobster tacos for the first time ever. I thought they were great. Just that combination put me over the top.

MT: Well it's good that you like Minnesota when the weather is as terrible as it is right now, because it's a whole different deal in the summer.
Snyder: Oh I believe that. Land of 10,000 Lakes, right?

MT: I know you've heard this before, but you look like LeBron James.
Snyder: It's really not a bad thing, and it's pretty fun playing against him. I mean, he's a different breed.

MT: When's the first time you heard someone say you looked like LBJ?
Snyder: When I first got in the league, I was walking around, and someone was like, 'Hey that's LeBron!' But I'm saying, 'Nope, I've got my own name.'

MT: Hi I'm Kirk Snyder, and I'm in the league too.
Snyder: Right?

MT: But there are worse players to look like. 'Bron's all right at basketball.
Snyder: True.

Interesting factoid: He looks like Lebrons 37 year old brother but is actually 24. I thought he was a vet but it turns out we went and got another pup.

Sweet!

Man, I saw the LeBron thing, and I thought it was just me!

Kirk's nice and all, but it could be financially painful to keep him, especially using a roster spot and money under the lux to fill an already crowded swingman position.

We have $16 mil and 7 roster spots (and probably three guaranteed contract 1st rounders in 2009).

Choose your pieces off the menu below:

$3.3-$4.0 MIN 1st Round Pick
$0.42 MIA high 2nd Round Pick
$0.43 MIN high 2nd Round Pick
$3.5-$5.0 Ryan Gomes (extension)
$3.0-$4.0 Craig Smith (extension)
$3.54-?? Sebastian Telfair (qualifying offer)
$3.14-?? Kirk Snyder (qualifying offer .. should be less)
$0.77 Chris Richard
????? Free Agents?

He MUST be related to LeBron, because LeBron looks 36 and he's 23

good luck with snyder, he is a great hustle player and deserves a change to play.... he didn't fit in on our team but i am happy to hear he is working out for minny..... i also really admire the front office of minny making the trade happen that made green happy to be coming back home and getting snyder playing time....

Everyone should do this. This is a great quick way to put the job you want the Wolves to do in the off-season...Shrink once again great stuff.

$3.3-$4.0 MIN 1st Round Pick...JORDAN
$0.42 MIA high 2nd Round Pick...BEST CENTER AVAIL.
$0.43 MIN high 2nd Round Pick...BEST SF AVAIL.
$3.5-$5.0 Ryan Gomes (extension)...70% YES DEPENDS ON SNYDER FOR ME.
$3.0-$4.0 Craig Smith (extension)...NO
$3.54-?? Sebastian Telfair (qualifying offer)...100% YES
$3.14-?? Kirk Snyder (qualifying offer .. should be less)...TOO EARLY TO SAY, BUT I MIGHT LIKE HIM BETTER THAN GOMES....30%YES
$0.77 Chris Richard...MEH, I'M APATHETIC
????? Free Agents?....NONE
