sure paying someone (especially nba multi millionaires) for nothing sucks, but really, what are these 2 gong to do that would have ANY effect on the team, standings, franchise!?

why not save a few million and let them go?

1. We offered Antoine a buyout offer but he turned it down.
2. We need vets. Rolling with only young guys isn't a good thing. Guys like buckner, doleac, etc. have been around a while and know the right way to do things. We need at least a couple of those type of guys around to help the pups.

They potentially have value as expiring contracts.

As someone who posts primarily on the trade board, you ought to know the value of expiring contracts by now.

OT: what are you doing in Budapest? I studied abroad there as an undergrad. By far the best decision I ever made. I want to go back soon.

Buckner doesn't really complain, he knows hes lucky to be working, so I wouldn't bother buying him out. The way I see it with him is, if you're going to pay (and keep) Mark Madsen when hes as crappy as he is...whats wrong with doing the same with Buckner?

Walker. Hes essentially a $9.3 million expiring contract. He wants a buyout, i'd lowball him and stay firm with that as the ONLY offer. Which is what Minnesota seems to be doing. I would work my a$$ off to trade before next season though. I would pursue ALL OPTIONS before falling back to a buyout.

So long story short, keep Buckner unless you completely perfect your backcourt, work on moving Walker as move No. 1.

The only Walker trade I could come up with, which would take some convincing, is Walker to Cleveland for Eric Snow (works here and on ESPN, but trade can't happen until next season...so I don't know if it will still work).

Walker gives Cleveland another shooter off the bench, a better player then Snow, and Walker always seems to play better for better teams.

For Minnesota- $2 million+ salary dump, Walker dumped, Snows a captain, adding a guy with 103 playoff games...he hasn't been effective with Cleveland (starter or otherwise) but I think he would be a good influence for the young Wolves.

You have to convince the Cavs, Walker would mesh and the Wolves that this is really "addition by subtraction".
