Its not as exciting as the day we can say, "The new phone books are here!" but I wasted plenty of time here last year, and the new one is up.

Incidentally, for those that have lives and don't want to play, in the ESPN simulator we get a lot of Derrick Rose at #2, and DeAndre Jordan at #4. With the top pick, ESPN has us taking Beasley

One last note: Chad Ford has our draft order as:
1. Michael Beasley
2. Derrick Rose
3. DeAndre Jordan
4. Brook Lopez

I was surprised to see that as the 2nd worst record we only have a 1 in 5 chance of getting the #1 overall pick. I don't like those odds.

Wow. The very first time I hit "Play Lottery" It ended up with SEATTLE winning the lottery and drafting Beasley. We ended up falling to #5 and selecting Jordan though. Still I cant stand seeing Seattle get another top 2 pick.

First time I hit it, it had Portland #1 and Seattle #2...
I think I would quit watching the NBA if that happened.

The first time I did it the Kings got the first pick and the Wolves got the 4th pick. The next ten times or so we always get 2-5 pick. Getting either Rose or Jordan. Except once where the Knicks got the first pick and took Rose. Leaving Beasley for us at pick 2.

Well that leaves me out....I rolled the dice 20 times while on espn.com, before I even saw it here. What's worse, I recorded my results...
Wolves got Beasley 5 times (20% chance)
Rose 3 times
Jordan 11 times
Lopez 1 time
Who got the #1 when MN didnt?
Miami 5 times (25% chance)
Seattle 4 times (11.9% chance - 4 times wtf?!)
Knicks 2 times (8.8% chance)
Charlotte 2 times (4.3% chance)
Clippers 1 time (6.3% chance)
Bucks 1 time (2.8% chance)
The one time we didnt get Jordan at 4 or 5 and got Lopez instead, Chicago took him before us.
One other interesting note (that made sense) - this had Memphis passing on Rose as high as #2, since they are already loaded at PG.

After about 30 the Wolves still had not landed the number 1 pick. Then we got it 3 out of my next 5.

I don't want this to turn into yet another draft thread, but anyone quibble with Chad Ford's draft order for the wolves?

Lopez over Jordan. Jordan is obviously a better physical prospect, but Lopez is so much more developed, I don't think Jordan will ever catch up in that aspect. Lopez also doesn't have the question marks that Jordan does.
1. Beasley
2. Rose
3. Lopez
Bulls no.1 Wolves no.2 on the first try...Bull have a 1.7% chance of winning it, btw.
Second try: PHOENIX SUNS with the no.1 overall and Miami-Minny-Memphis end up 4-5-6. (NYK 2 and SEA 3)
Our finishes after that:
2-1-2-5-4-3-4-2-4-3

I hope we get the third pick and draft Jordan!

Just because Jordan is high on Chad Ford's board doesn't mean squat. IMO it'd be crazy to draft him with such a high pick. He hasn't done well in college this year, he should probably stay and hone his game. Right now he's looking like a sure fire bust if he comes out this year.
I can easily picture the following scenario... we draft Jordan and he progresses very slowly, so much so that we don't extend his rookie contract. Then he goes to some other team and blows up.
I'd rather take someone with skill and character than someone with potential only.

I still think it's in Jordan's best interest to return to school, probably more so than any of the other freshmen this year.

Took me about 15 times for MN to get #1. Memphis got the #1 at least 8 times.

It took me ten tries to get us #1. Even the simulator is rigged against us. lol

I heard that he has had a lot of problems with the coaching staff at Texas A&M so he is almost surely gonna want to leave that situation.
I also attribute a lot of Jordan's problems to Texas A&M majorly lacking any play making guards. Donald Sloan is a tough SG but he is an awful shooter and they make him play PG. Dom Kirk is a good SG/SF but he isn't a playmaker. Josh Carter is a SF who can't shoot, but does often. No one can spread the defense on this team. They all avoid passing to Jordan like it's the plague which could be stemming from the coaches problems with him and lack of chemistry. Mark Tergereon has a horrible game plan most of the time and you have seen that in their past couple games cause they are starting to get KILLED. All a team has to do is collapse in the pain because the big men are the vocal point and even the three guards i mentioned are more slashers than anything else. All the Aggies ever do is give the ball to Jordan on the block once in a while, where his rawness is exposed. They do not throw lobs, they do not use him athleticism at all most of the time.
I'm not trying to make excuses for Jordan he is indeed raw, and if we drafted him we'd need to be real pacient, but he isn't exactly in a good playing situation right now.
