DWade is done for the season, so basically heat are tanking season. Is it beasley or bust for us?

There are other guys we could take in the draft that are pieces to the puzzle. Not Star potential, but pieces. Heat tanking doesn't guarantee them a #1 pick, just top 4 guaranteed if they end up with the worst record(Which I think they will)

Rose, Bayless, Lopez, Mayo, Jordan are all guys we could look at if Beasley falls into other hands, or we could use it as trade bait to get a proven NBA player(young) on our team.

Not to mention that Riley isn't doing his job. (Scouting players instead of coaching games)

that's bad karma for their team. They gave up. I bet they don't get the #1 pick.

Might be better for them to take Rose anyway, depending on if Marion stays or not.

It's pretty unlikely that they will get the #1 pick, so you'd be making a good bet regardless of any "karma".

U don't really think that marion will walk away from 17 mil next year. They do need a pg. I think its cheap for riles to leave the team to scout, thats basically like frick you guys i'm going to go watch some CB. That might piss off some of his players

marion stated that he thinks he's worth more than 17 mil per year so I think he'll use his option...

I really really hope Stern will punish them...

Who's going to pay him more than 17 mil? No one has that kind of money next year.

S&T maybe?

edit: very unlikely for the heat to take back a big contract unless it is a TPE (if you can generate such a big one)

Marion is not worth his contract...he and everyone knows it redgardless of what he said. The Heat just suck....Wade has been a shell this season....for quitting early I hope they end at the number five pick and draft a bust. I mean, Riley is actually at games...Indiana watching Gordon and White the other night, but come on. How can something so blatent not be punished?

Agree with Funkatron... if I'm the Heat I want Rose anyway. He'd maximize Marion's talents and get easy baskets for Wade. Beasley doesn't make sense going forward when they already have Marion and Haslem, IMO.

I think it's 99% certain that Marion stays. Most money, warm climate, Riley and Wade and a 1-2 pick... who could ask for a better situation?

Shawn Marion?

^Ha. I'm not saying he'll play out the entirety of a max deal in Miami, Lupus. I'm saying he's going to get his money, then if the situation deteriorates he'll try to get moved somewhere else. That (unfortunately) is the NBA way.

Yeah, I don't disagree with you. I was just being a bit sarcastic. If there is a player that would ask out of a perfect situation, it's probably Marion, though. He's already done it once.
