Definitely something I've never heard of before. I'm not sure that it's illegal, but it does seem like something Stern would step in and have issues with.

hilarious. of all the problems that we have in this country we set up a charity devoted to giving lebron james a ferrari.

That's me punching my keyboard 20 times.

Let's make a "charity" to get Microsoft to release Windows XP SP 3!
I'm not sure, but I don't think they have their own time machine or country yet!

And when James ultimately rips the hearts of Knicks fans everywhere by joining the new look Brooklyn Nets, where does the money go? Hopefully they will have enough to buy out some contracts.

Fans can do it, but NY Organizations can't.

Can we get a site going to entice me to go to work tomorrow?

I'm thinking: free lunch, time and a half, and a Ferrari.

Yeah, but there have to be actions taken against it. It's a HUGE benefit to big market teams. It's not AT ALL fair.

I don't see it being illegal unless it's on the donator's side trying to write it off for taxes. No way would the IRS allow a donation write off with name Lebron James in it...at least I'd hope.
