But honestly I love that he blames these kind of guys for the Heats lack of success this season. Can't possibly be the fact that Shaq makes $20 mil a year and played with no interest, or the fact that the Heat had to bring in guys like Ricky Davis because they were forced to throw insane amounts of money to guys that didn't mind being in Shaq and Wades shadows.

Which of course lead to the fact that they then had to go the cheap route filling out their roster.

It wasn't health and such, it was Chris Quinns' fault.

wow shaq loses my respect with every new comment he makes. D'Antoni is the biggest whiner out there and he calls him professional? well it's very subjective but I'd rather play for Riley than for D'Antoni but Shaq needed to say that to take the blame off of him

I'm a bit surprised that Shaq is all of a sudden relatively healthy since he joined the Suns. while playing for the Heat he seemed as if he wasn't healthy at all. I think Shaq didn't give it all this season. I can understand that it's tough to be motivated when you're losing that often but HEY YOU'RE MAKING 20 MILLION A YEAR! GET YOUR ****ING A$$ UP!!!

but I don't want to protect Ricky Davis at all. I'm so happy that he and Blount are gone

yeah, yeah, shaq is lazy, he didn't shows up for games and loves to talk **** about his former teams, bla bla bla....
everybody and their momma knows that, it's not the point.
the fact is that heat team has a lot of bad/lazy/unprofessional players. j-will and blount for example.
their record AND their game speak for itself.
and from all that mess shaq chosed to single out ricky davis.
it's gotta tell you something about buckets and what players think of him.

I didn't need Shaq to figure that out so I decided to take a shot at Shaq

D'Antoni > Riley

I lost all respect for Pat Riley when he quit coaching to be a GM. Then when the Heat looked like they could win a championship he fired Stan Van Gundy and took over as coach again. We hear about fair weather fans all the time. Well Pat Riley is the definition of fair weather coach.

he's also the president of the heat so I think his scouting trip is rather better for future than to win one or two games. plus I highly doubt even pat riley is able to get some of the heat players motivated. I even doubt sloan could do that. the van gundy incident was BS, I agree with that but I wouldn't necessarily say that the scouting trip was that bad... also it doesn't matter who's acting as he coaches during games since it's basically pointless wether they have a coach or not.

I don't think he meant Riley's scouting escapades this year, I think he meant when Riley quit coaching before the heat won the championship

The Suns have one of the best training staff's in the league. They brought Amare back from a few surgeries, they keep Nash playing well, Grant Hill looks like he is somewhat young again.

Im sure alot of it had to do with Shaq just not wanting to play, but the overweight controversy was stupid just like with Walker when he got here. Shaq has been in much better shape since he got to PHX

He didn't single out Ricky, he um...doubled out Ricky and Chris Quinn. I think he was just talking generally about his old teammates, and those two were the two he just happened to mention. It didn't sound like he was trying to single them out, he was just using them as examples. Not that I have anything good to say about Ricky, but that's how I interpreted it.

well I don't doubt their medical/physical department but if I had to chose wether I want to play for Riley or D'Antoni I'd rather go with Riley.

and I also didn't mean to take a shot at shaq's weight problems. I have a problem with the fact that he rather blames others before he starts blaming himself. you mention it, not wanting to play. come on, how many people out there would kill to lose 82 games to make 20 million a year? and I already mentioned that I can feel his disappointment because of this constant losing but guess what? they're professionals. it's up to you to change it and/or at least to get the others to help you with it. and since shaq was the 2nd best player on that squad he has to take some degree of blame.

the thing with Quinn was an indirect shot at Riley.

I think that it's a streach to say that he doesnt care about winning, but he has never been a part of a winning team. I don't know that he couldn't be, but he just seems to always be put in a position where he is expected to be the player he isn't (but probably should be)

As far as that whole rape thing goes I had never heard that before and that's quite a rumor. Ricky might not be the best team player, but he has alwyas done a lot for the comunity and the underprivelaged. When he was here in MN, he hung out with Mad Dog. I saw them playing golf together in Mankato two different times. His off the court problems have been very minimal. That is a very bold statement.
