Any Telfair updates?

No, this isn't a fantasy question (although I do have him on one of my teams). I'm a big Bassy supporter, and I haven't heard anything regarding his timetable recently. All I've seen was that small report on Minnesota's website roughly a week ago. Is he going to be making his return to the lineup this week? Next week?
Also, I haven't been watching the Wolves lately like I did earlier in the year. My mind has been completely focused on the C's and of course the NCAA tournament. I heard Bassy has been joining Tom and Jim on the broadcasts. How has he been with that?
Hopefully better than Dirk.

I think the paper said another week possibly two before he's back.

I feel like Taylor never wanted Telfair in the original trade, with his big push these days for character. However, as far as we know, Telfair's been a good citizen here, and he's shown some usefulness while he's here.
My question to you:
Do you think he showed enough while he was here to convince Taylor and McHale to keep him?

I think that he has shown enough to prove that he can turn his life around but is he only playing this well because it is a contract year. They have fallen for that before with Hudson. I think it all depends on how much money he wants.

I dont think he is as loved by management as Hudson was though.
I said it before, I think the best situation for BOTH Minnesota and Telfair would be to sign him to a cheap 2 year contract with the second year as a player option.
That way
1). if he continues to show improvement he will get interest from us and other clubs after next season when he opts out
2). If he does not continue to improve, we will have him for two years (as he will pick up the option) but it wont affect us affect us long term due to it being a cheap contract as well as short

Telfair will have trouble getting offers.
There are four good PG prospects coming through the draft: Rose/Augustin/Collison/Lawson.
The Raptors/Blazers/Grizz all have extra PGs to deal.
No one will have enough minutes to justify giving him a contract worth much more than the league minimum. Clippers/Nuggets/Pacers/Knicks/Heat are all possibilities.

Excellent points. Its a pretty saturated PG market this year.
I think Telfair's return will depend on who we draft. If we get Rose, I'm not sure there will be a place here for Bassy next year.

Agree. However, I do think Telfair has earned another year in MN as a backup (assuming Rose doesn't fall to the Wolves.) Maybe a two year deal, just above the minimum?

If telfair can make it the rest of the season without being arrested, it will be a first. LOL
