OT: Bad Weather (NO SCHOOL!)

Post#1 » by Klomp » Mon Mar 31, 2008 5:09 pm

School in Marshall was cancelled as of 10:30. Yippee! The weather is headed towards the Twin Cities, they are expected to get 6-8 inches.

If it snows on Camp Lejeune, the entire base shuts down. I figure it's probably since most of the Marines and sailors are from the south and don't know how to drive in snow.

Still waiting for it.

Snow storms in the South are scary. I remember driving across Houston after a 3 inch snow storm (with ice). That was the most terrifying experience of my life. "What, you mean cars don't stop on ice?"

Twin Cities have some of the best snow removal anywhere. Even here in Madison, where we got over 100 inches of snow this year, it is pretty sucky in comparison.

The snow here is not sticking to the roads at all, but is starting to build up on the grass. Oh well it will all be gone when it is 50 out later this week. My school did not close. But when I went to my only class there was a note on the door that said, No class today, I am using the day to correct papers. It kind of made me mad because this teacher only allows you to miss 5 days and then you fail the class, yet we didn't have class Friday or today. He told us we would not have class on Friday during the previous class, but we had no warning about today. It would have been nice to know this like a week in advance so I could have planned to go home for four days without missing any days of class.

I didn't get out either. Early this morning it was rain. Then it turned to snow and was pretty bad out but everyone was already at school(i don't have anything till 10) i thought maybe we'd get out of it but then it changed back to rain until about 2:30 when it turned back to snow. Right now its pretty horrible so i'm just gonna stay at home and watch the twins game and play ps3.

I guess it's northern MN's turn today. 10 inches at my house so far and still coming down hard. Hope I can get out tomorrow.
