Would you like this trade?

If the Wolves get the second pick and Derrick Rose is off the board would you do this trade?

Nets Trade:
Richard Jefferson
10th Pick (Deandre Jordan?)
Sean Williams
21st Pick (Darren Collison?)

Wolves Trade:
2nd Pick (Michael Beasley)
Rashard McCants
30th pick
Antoine Walker

I believe the Nets will be dealing one of the Jefferson/Carter duo on and leading up to draft night in order to really get the rebuilding process in full effect.

I think Richard Jefferson will be the one who gets dealt as Vince Carter is both better and puts people in the stands.

I'm a Celtics fan and by extention a Wolves fan since Al Jefferson is still my favorite young player in the league. I also was interested in the Celtics drafting both Foye and Brewer the past few years, which is why i'm thinking about such things.

I fully believe that it is far more important for the Wolves to get Al Jefferson back to his natural PF posistion to get the most out of him and lets be honest Brook Lopez isn't the right kind of compliment to him at center either.

A combo of Sean Williams and Deandre Jordan to provide athletic shot-blocking, size and rebounding would make a huge difference down low both right away and down the road giving the Wolves one of the most talented front lines in basketball a long with Big Al.

Richard Jefferson would be the main offensive option on the wings and give the Wolves a guy who will balance the floor a bit for Jefferson and provide a solid #2 option who gets to the line and converts his free throws.

It also gives them enough offensive fire power to keep Brewer in the starting lineup to guard the other teams best wing players and allow him to just get his offense in transistion, hustle points and wide open jumpers.

Randy Foye gets to opperate at full health next year playing fulltime at the PG posistion with an actual quality team around him. I think he will be much more comfortable in the PG role where he can run the pick and roll with guys like Jordan/Williams and he wouldn't have the pressure to create shots for others as AL Jefferson can set up on the blocks and Richard Jefferson can run iso's while Foye spots up to space the floor.

Then you have guys like Craig Smith, Marko Jaric, Darren Collison and Kirk Snyder to fill out the rotation.

What do you think?

I'd probably do this for the wolves. I think NJ overpays though.

Yeah, i'm not sure they'd give up Sean Williams. Then again if i'm the Wolves i'm holding a hardline stance that without Sean Williams in the package that I want Vince Carter instead of Richard Jefferson.

Sean hasn't really been playing for the nets in the last couple months...whats the deal with that.

anyways, I would really have to think about that deal. Beasley just doesn't fit our team.

I'd rather have RJ for the wolves regardless.

RJ + 10th > #2 + Walker
McCants == Williams
21st > 30th

Now the margin is probably small in terms of overpayment. Its probably close. 9 spots difference between the 21st and 30 is insignificant.

Beasly will most likely end up a better player than RJ. RJ is no slouch either.

I'd run this lineup:
Williams\Al
Al\Williams
RJ\Brewer
Jaric\Brewer
Foye\Jaric

Plus whomever they pickup with the #10 & #21. Williams solves lots of problems in the front court immediately. RJ Solves scoring problems. Plus MN can either gamble and pickup a guy like Jordan. Maybe select a 2 with the later pick. Or maybe brewer is a long term option at the 2. I'm not sure he has the footspeed to keep up with small 2's though.

I'm not as high on Jordan as most people. I dunno lots of ways you can slice it

I wouldn't do this. I'd rather see what Beasley turns into.

Besides, RJ has an ugly contract that still has 3 years left after this season.

No, I wouldn't do it.

If the Wolves thought they were one player from being in the playoffs then, I could see bringing in a player of Richard's caliber. I wouldn't use our pick this year under any circumstances though.

Not neccesarily for Jefferson, but for a fringe allstar who wants out, I'd start with:

Walker's expiring
Buckner's near expiring
Boston pick
Miami pick
Maybe sign and trade for one of Smith/Telfair if necessary.

Maybe for O'neal?

How far has Jermaine O'Neal's stock dropped? If he opts out, would you guys consider a sign and trade for O'Neal at 12-14/yr for the package above (I think we may have to give up McCants too)?

w/Rose

O'Neal/2nd rounder or O'Bryant
Big Al/Smith or Gomes
Brewer/Gomes/Snyder/Jaric
Foyes/McCants
Rose/Foye

w/Beasley:

O'Neal/2nd Rounder/O'Bryant
Jefferson/Gomes
Beasley/Brewer/Snyder/Jaric
Brewer/McCants
Foye/Telfair

I think it's amazing how much better are roster looks when you just add a quality center. But will O'Neal stay healthy?

2nd pick, no. This would be an option for the 3rd pick though.

Richard Jefferson is better than Vince Carter IMO. No deal with VC is a go for me.
