Lottery question

What if we landed the first pick and memphis landed the second pick... what do you think that we could get from memphis to get the picks swapped so that they could for sure land beasley since they have no need for rose.

$3 mil. Probably not what you want t hear, but if I were Memphis I'd dare the Wolves to blink. That's how it went down 2 years ago - Wolves had Roy at 6, were going to get Foye and Head from Houston at 8 but Boston screwed them over and picked Foye at 7, and rather than stick with Roy they got Foye and some token cash.

I think MEM blinks on that one first.

The view around the league is that MIN could use either Beasley or Rose.

The general consensus for MEM is that if they pick second and are forced to take Rose, that they trade Conley, and his value is pretty low after a less-than-impressive rookie year. If they get Beasley, they get a better fit AND they keep Conley.

My guess is that they'd probably offer the protected pick they got from the Wizards

(Traded rights to Juan Carlos Navarro to Grizzlies for 2008 first round pick (top 19 protected in 2008, top 16 protected in 2009, top 14 protected in 2010, top 12 protected in 2013, else second round pick & cash)

Washington will finish with the 18th or 19th pick, so this would be yet another pick for next season.

If this is too much, I think Memphis would certainly the Lakers 2008 pick from the Pau trade and maybe Crittendon.
