Minnesota likely wouldnt take on that much salary, but it does give them a pretty solid core of Jefferson, Redd, Foye, Brewer, 2008 lottery pick, plus whoever is resigned of Gomes, Smith, Richard, Snyder, and Telfair.

Redd gets to the line a lot, it's something this team needs desperately. Taking on Gadz long term salary and a pick is a small price to get back a proven nba 2.

In fact you could take it further and package a pick less than 1 or 2 w\ Gadz and trade down maybe with CHI?

Yeah even though I originally threw the trade out there I agree with this line of thinking. The Wolves arent quite ready yet for one of those "acquire a big name to push us over the top" type of trades.

I don't want Redd on the Wolves. All he can do is score and for what he is paid he should do more.

I think we should table trade proposals for all overpriced stars/semi-stars that need a change of scenery for at least 6 months. Maybe create a sticky which would list players that are currently blacklisted from being traded to the Wolves because it doesn't mesh with our rebuilding process.

I don't think Jefferson or Redd should be on that list. They fill a need (scoring) and are under 30. I'd take either one for the right package, with preference for Redd.

Redd is the backcourt version of Curry.
Of the players on the overpriced list Carter or Davis would be the ones worth going after. They are both leaps and bounds better than Redd. They would also be the hardest to get. I don't see how we could get Davis. Can't he opt out this summer? If he didn't and we traded for him he could just leave the next offseason. Carter is locked into a deal for a quite a few years. In some ways that is good for a small market team, but it is also a lot of money to spend on a player that is known to not give 100% at times.

If Redd is the backcourt version of Curry, Carter is easily the same version of Randolph.

You are right. Randolph at least rebounds and has a well rounded offensive game. Randolph is better than Curry. Carter is a much better player than Redd.

If you want Redd on this team why not save tons of money and let McCants shoot the ball 20 times a game?
