Sonics Trade:

Jeff Green
two 2nd Round picks in 2008 NBA draft

Timberwolves Trade:

#3 pick in 2008 NBA draft
Greg Buckner

Why does Seattle do it? Although Green showed great promise in his rookie campaign, Sam Presti comes to the ultimate conclusion that Durant is best suited as a small forward - the same position Jeff plays. It's a tough loss but in return the Sonics select O.J. Mayo and have an incredible 1-2-3 punch for the future assuming they get Rose. That does leave the Sonics with 3-point guards, so one of them must be traded for some more SG/SF depth.

Why does Minnesota do it?
Since the T-wolves finish just outside of the big 3 in the lottery, they aren't going to get a superstar like Beasley or Rose. With Foye doing well at point and McCants looking better and better at SG, Green fills in as their SF for the future. Although Minnesota fans might be stubborn in regards to Corey Brewer, it's better to cut their losses quickly and realize that Brewer is not the SF they had hoped for. He is better suited off as a nice guy off the bench to provide some solid defense which not all of the starters can provide.

Seattle (draft Derrick Rose, Joe Alexander and trade Watson for potential)

PG - Rose/Ridnour
SG - Mayo/Wilkins
SF - Durant/Alexander
PF - Collison/Wilcox
C - Petro/Sene/Swift

Minnesota
(re-sign Telfair, Craig Smith, and Chris Richard - draft Dorsey, Jawai, Ryan Anderson)

PG - Foye/Telfair
SG - McCants/Jaric
SF - Green/Brewer
PF - Smith/Gomes
C - Jefferson/Smith

Bench/D-League - the three Rookies

Jeff Green was the fifth pick.

#5 for #3 doesn't make sense.

Add in the fact that Sonics give us two seconds that probably won't amount to anything.

I like Green, but i'd take my chances on Mayo at #3.

The #2007 #5 and two second rounders for #3 huh? You must really value second rounders!

Here's my counter-proposal:

MIN GIVES: #3 + 2 second rounders

SEA GIVES: #2

it doesn't matter because we're not gonna get the 3rd pick.

We'll get the 6th pick and draft Dannilo Gallilelllio from Armani Jeans. Why is his team named after jeans anyways

Not just that, it's Armani Jeans Milano. Combines the best of both designer jeans and Pepperidge Farm.

It's all coming together. Draft pick from a fashion designer team, new uniforms unveiled on draft day....

Just what we need, more 2nd round picks...

This trade only happens if we fall to 4th of 5th. At that point, you still need to get rid of the 2nd rounders and give us the phoenix pick so we can then draft Robin Lopez.

Jeff Green + Phoenix pick

#4 (or #5) + Buckner

even then, Jeff Green is basically a slightly bigger version of Gomes so it makes little sense.

ummm, we don't need another avg. potential player, we drafted one in Brewer. Sure both Brewer and Green have potential but I don't think either one could be a #1 or #2 option on a team...I'll take my chances on our pick.

Outside of Rose/Beasly/Mayo, I dont mind us trading our pick

If we get one of those three (in that order) we keep them no matter what (well ok, if New Orleans calls and offers us Paul I guess we can talk) :)
