Who would make you think about trading the #2?

First, I'll assume that we wouldnt trade Rose under any circumstances, whether he's there at #1 or #2. But what if we have #2 and Rose is gone? Which players would at least make you think about trading the #2? I dont want to get into specific trades, but what names would McHale need to hear so that he wouldnt hang up the phone immediatly? I'll ignore LeBron, Paul, Howard, Kobe, Roy, Oden, Durant, and Wade because they arent going anywhere.

Anybody else? I guess its a pretty small group. And you could argue that even these five could be part of the untouchable list as well.

Honestly, I would much rather have Beasley than Melo and probably Okafer, too. I just don't like Carmelo - I don't think he is a "winner". The other three names, I would probably go for. Bynum would be at my top but he is probably on the untouchable list.

bynum, but the lakers won't trade him for beasley. plus we'd have 4 years of rookie contract savings and we'd be forced to give any of those guys a big contract. a savings of around 50 mil, short term.

The Trade Board ran a poll over who had the most trade value, and I thought it might help come up with names. Of course, since this was a poll, each voter brought in his or her own preconceptions, from his team, of what represents trade value. A rebuilding team like MEM might not value KG as much as a team close to a championship, like San Antonio, for example. Still, it provides a list of the high value names, as well as a valuation of what the pick would be worth.

I don't know about Josh Smith, and Bynum has some flags (Slow to come back from injury. Will he be as good on another team?) The other 3 would certainly make me think about it.

When you consider the Wolves now and how the trade would effect this team, here's the guys off the top 30 list that I would trade the #2 pick for.

1-11, 13, 15, 17, 18, and 20. I don't think I'd trade it for anyone else on the list.

Currently, Bosh, Durant, and Aldridge don't do enough for me to move Beasley. Of those, Aldridge I probably like the most, so if they added in a little bit I could be swayed. Aldridge and Jefferson would be good together.

The rest are either two old, getting paid too much, or wouldn't work well with a rebuilding team.

I would not trade beasly away for a different player. The only players that tempt me would not be available for him so shrug.

Bynum probably has similar trade value, but I agree that he has shown some red flags, lacks some commitment, and needs to be resigned soon.

I will agree with that statement. If we are lucky enough to get #2 in the draft, we should just be happy that it is a no brainer decision for mgmt. and roll with it. We need the swagger of a superstar here and I think Beasley would fit the bill. I will be curious to see how he measures out. I hope he is close to 6'10 in shoes.....

Anyone who would trade for Melo needs their head examined. He doesn't listen to Karl, what makes you think he'd tune in Whit the Twit? Moreover, he has no concept of defense and he hasn't met a shot he doesn't like.

Of the players on the list, one that might be available would be Dirk. The Mavs remind me of the KG-Wolves...aging, overpriced, middling team. They are ripe to blow it up and Dirk is their most tradeable commodity. Our #1, the Miami-owed #1, Walker, Jaric. I would not do it if Beasley or Rose were availabe and would have to think long and hard if Mayo was on the board (so basically top #3); otherwise, I would.

He's already one of the biggest forces on offense and he's beginning to show dedication on defense too. Even iff he maintains his current pace with no improvement, as long as he's healthy he's probably going to the hall of fame.

I don't disagree with anything you've said about Al, but I'd consider Al for Beasley. Which is going to be more productive? Al? Or Beasley + a near max deal free agent?

Its too hard to find a player like Al Jefferson. A back to the basket player that can rebound like that and has that kind of perfect personality for a winning team.

I wouldn't trade Al jefferson for Beasley and Deng or whomever. I think Beasley is talented, but I have unanswered concerns about his personality. Whatever free agent the Wolves get is a guy that either abandoned his team even though they wanted him, was given up by his team because they didn't think he was that good, or they didn't think he was worth the price so they let him go. I don't see an NBA championship in that combination. I think Al can be a leader, I think Foye can, I think Rose can, I do not think Beasley can, and I do not think that free agent we get would either.
