TJ Ford.

I noticed his trade value on the trade board is surprisingly low. Although you have to take into consideration his injury concerns, he was 6th in the league from a PER standpoint at the PG position last year.

If we don't get Rose, is there any interest in trading for Ford if something like this can get it done:

Walker/McCants for Ford/Baston?

Ford/Foye/Jefferson/Brewer/Gomes/Our pick/FA center

I think that team has a shot at the playoffs next year with room to build.

Except from the leagues of TOR fans.

He's BYC, so we'd be adding additional salary, plus the length of his contract ($8.6 ave through 2011) makes me too nervous with his injury history.

Personally I like the guy, but I don't think the risk is worth the return.

After having endured Michael Williams, Terrell Brandon, Troy Hudson and just having had Foye come off of a long injury stint... I'd prefer to stay clear of any injury plagued PG.

Best reasoning ever. I actually was going to post about if the Wolves could "buy low", but I forgot about all that.

The Wolves luck Ford would play 5 games, look unbelieveable and then just about never ever play again.

I like Ford, just not for this team.

Understandable. A little surprised no one is a little tempted though.

He would be okay, my main deal is that if Foye is going to be moved to SG, I want a PG that is 6'3 or 6'4 so we don't get too small.

You have to consider where he put up those numbers, though. Rafer Alston, Mike James, Ford and Jose Calderon (aside from his rookie season) have all had career years from a PER standpoint under Sam Mitchell. Just something worth noting.

^^^That's a very good point.

That Walker/McCants package seems to be our best trade piece since we don't include Foye or Brewer so I would rather use it to find a center since that is our most glaring need.

I wouldn't keep Foye if he's not going to be the point guard (I think he needs the ball to be effective.) And you're right regardless, a Foye/Ford backcourt would be too small.

I might participate in a larger deal with Ford ending up in MN, but a two-team deal doesn't look to make sense.
