What do you all think of this Wolves-Raptors trade

I like some of the ideas for a trade from this site, but I modified it. Anyway, here is a possible trade to the Toronto Raptors.

Outgoing players: Rashad McCants, Marko Jaric, Heat draft pick, second round draft pick

Incoming players: Kris Humphries, Andrea Bargnanai, 2008 first round draft pick (17th overall)

I know the Raptors fans wouldn't think very much of it.

I'm conflicted, neither of those players would do much for us, but I'm a fan of any trade that gets Marko off the team. I would approve this though because of the 17th pick we get.

Bargnani had a disappointing second year (and I don't care if he is Italian, the guy is named Andrea) BUT I don't think the Raps would give up on him so early. As a Wolves' fan I'd do it in a second, but I bet Raps fans would hate it.

Id do it.

Heat pick isnt ours until theyre out of the top 4 or top 10 until 2011.

How do you feel about the Vikings signing Erin Henderson then?

if bargs could become our SF I'd consider it but I don't want him as a power forward let alone center. he could really stretch the floor with his shooting. and if we draft a physical center who can crash the boards I'm up for it because big al and the center make up for the lack of rebounding in bargs

I'd hate to get rid of rashad though I just thought about this if we get a bit lucky:

rose
foye/brewer
bargs
big al
center @ #17

enticing... plus we get rid of marko's contract. how long is humphries' contract running?

Bargs is too slow and too bad defensively and everything else to play the 3. Wolves would be better off keeping the pick and Rashad

Why would Toronto make that trade? The draft pick exchange is not significant as the Miami pick has too many protections on it to end up yielding anything substantially better than their #17 this year. Bargs has far more upside than McCants, and Humphrey's contract is significantly less than Jaric's.

Take out their #1 and have us include Boston's #1 and perhaps Toronto fans wouldn't laugh too much. But then I'd ask, why would MN want a 7'0 SF when we already have Brewer playing the position.

Bingo. I had an incredulous discussion with Raptor fans who believe that Kris Humphries and his 13 mpg >> McCants

I'm surprised people would "consider" such a deal. IMO this is one of the more lopsided deals (in favor of the Wolves) that I've seen here in a long time.

2008 1st > Miami pick
Andrea > McCants (He stilll has a lot more value)
Humphries >>>> Jaric (b/c of his contract)

If you take out Toronto's first it looks closer to a fair deal. Even then I think Toronto says no. Colangelo has no plans to trade Andrea while his stock is so low just two years after he invested a #1 pick in him.

take out the #17 and we give them the HOU 2010 2nd, too.

bargs is one of the biggest piles of trash to be taken lately. He made the realgm top overall paid to much players list on a rookie contract lol. He is a career back up at best. Humpries is solid but he is nothing that we couldn't drafrt in the late first round.

And I still dont think people understand that Mccants is worth way more to this team that a 17th or 18 pick in the draft. This draft is not that deep lol. YOu will be able to get similar talent out of the early second round picks and for much cheaper.

I agree with deluxe. Some TOR fans still want to call Bargnani "the next Dirk," but offensively, his numbers aren't like McCants, but more like Jaric's, and Jaric's better defensively as well. Humphries is a career back-up as well, and I also agree that its too early to trade away our second best scorer, when we won't know how he'll look after the summer.

Jaric isn't 7 feet tall. I don't like Bargs, and I don't think he'll end up amounting to much, but he there's no denying he has loads of potential.

his loads of potential have already been flushed down the toilet.

YEah Mccant shas a foul problem right now something easily corrected you cant teach someone at this stage to have his offensive skill set. anything after pick 15 is almost worthless ass we will pick not to many player later with our own picks. THere is plenty of bigs that all fall into a group and most of the talent you will find at 15-25 for a big is gonna be pretty simialr to one taken a bit later.

Here' the thing- Bargnani's been in the league 2 years. Last year he showed lots of potential, and this year he regressed. I'm not ready to write him off yet though. First, the Raptors are trying to make him a 5 from a 3, and that's a rough adjustment for any player. Second, he's an international player, and he's still young. He's going to take time to translate to the NBA game. Keep in mind that fter Darkko second year he hadn't even played in a meaningful game, yet now we have threads dedicated to how surpisingly productive he is as a C.

Double standard? Why are people ready to call him a bust, but not their own players? Look at the Wolves rookies after thus far- McCants after two years? People were ready to call him a bust last year, but now he's improved. Brewer after 1? Even though Brewer is older than Bargnani, wolves fans aren't ready to call him a bust yet, but somehow Bargnani is? Foye? Wolves poster's still claim he could be as good as Roy next year even though after two years Roy has established himself as the much better player.

I think Bargnani is considered a bust because he is a number one pick in the 2006 draft. If he was drafted after Durant and Oden in the 2007 draft then people probably wouldn't have cared.

I think Foye has been unfairly labeled as a bust because he was traded for Roy and will always be compared to him. However, if there was a 2006 draft redo, Foye would have been drafted earlier (after Roy of course).

is anyone opposed to even trading for andrea bargnani (granted both teams offer equal value of players and picks)

I am not sure I even trust him because he had a bad season so I dunno about the trade
