Nets get:

Mello
Camby

Nuggets get:
Marcus Williams
Richard Jefferson
Keith Van CapSpace
1st rd pick

Only reason I post it here is because it is a rival of ours.

Well, either Denver must be really high on Marcus Williams or I don't understand this. Jefferson is a real good player, but no way can he replace Melo. Plus they give up one of the best centers in the league, that's the thing that really messes me up. You would think that Denver could have gotten that package for just Melo.

Weird enough it does not work for the trade checker. Also, Camby does not make sense in this deal. He has huge value to a playoff team. Not NJ.

Mello got the Drunk Driving, I hear that is a big reason for the move.

That does seem a little bizzare. I could understand Melo for Jefferson in light of Melo's issues. Camby seems out of place as I could see the Nuggets wanting some salary relief, but New Jersey has enough up front that trading all the salary it takes to get this done doesn't make sense.

Hmm thats 23m out going for NJ...

Nj needs to send out uh....~17m

RJ is 13m + M wiliams 2m + kvh 4m +pick 2m = 21m

Should work post draft. I would think DEN could get more than this so there must be an additional 1st and maybe one of the young centers involved or it assumes that DEN will only pull the trigger if the 1st lands top 2.

Doesnt NJ have 5 or so young centers? Also, after this who plays pg? Camby?

LOL! I was thinking both things as well.

This deal would make a lot more sense with a third team involved. We have expirings that both teams could use -- DEN is over the lux, and we're right up to the limit. I think this deal would put them over, and Nets fans say there is no way their owner will go over the lux. It might make them more willing to give up the guaranteed salary of their first rounder though.

The answer to that would be Devin Harris

ugh -- I have no short term memory.

Or maybe I just can't get those thoughts of Camby trying to play PG put of my head.

Maybe if they toss in the expiring $6.2 mil Stromile Swift, the deal can be done as a 2-for-2?

That is what I think of everytime I read Camby's name.

I believe the trade is contingent on NJ landing in the top 3.

This would be great for NJ and great for us. Let our rivals get old because by the time we are good they will be irrelevant. Let's hope this goes down. Devin Harris, Melo, possibility of getting LeBron in the near future, would make a good team.

Who reported this rumor on ESPN?

I think it's laughable. For one, Sean Williams would almost certainly be included in any trade involving Camby.

Wiretap and Hoopshype will report anything ESPN reports. That doesn't make it any less laughable. There could be something there, but common sense suggests whoever made the report got the pieces wrong or left some pieces out.

The first rounder is NJ's first one, no doubt?

The Nets would be good next year. Really good.

It was on the wiretap before it was on ESPN I believe. It was on the Wire tap for at least two days now.

Yea...

...as being contingent on the Nets landing a Top 3 pick

Guess what?

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
