Who are McHale's 8?

Post#1 » by Krapinsky » Sun May 25, 2008 1:25 am

KevMac has said there are 8 players in this draft that the wolves really like. My question to you all, is who do you think those 8 players are?

Here's my best guess-

Rose
Beasley
Mayo
Jordan
Lopez
Gallinari
Love
Randolph

My thinking is Bayless and Gordon aren't included because of the current stature of the Wolves back court.

I think Gallinari and Jordan would be swapped.

8? He's cheating. Even Sir Charles knows you only get to to pick a Fave Five.

In all seriousness, I doubt Jordan is 4. Take him out and the order seems reasonable

You know somthing very interesting, say Timberwolves were able to do that Bogat deal and take Randolph with 8 if he were to slide there, Timberwolves would be all arms.
Bogat
Jefferson
Randolph
Brewer
Foye
Thats gotta be the tallest line I have ever seen. Giants

Hmm... I didn't put them in any particular order, just made a list off the top of my head. I have no idea how Mchale would rank them after the first 2, but I do think those would be the 8 players he likes.

I would swap out Randolph for Bayless on your list....unfortunately. I think Randolph has some serious potential, but if we had a lower pick, I see us passing on him for someone like Love.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I read that the front office was more of a committee thing these days... not so much a McHale likes this and McHale likes that.

Well that goes without saying, McHales loves all undersized 2 guards.

It is, but the last two picks we've made have been McHale's guys, so it seems like he's got the final say.

Here's who I think his 8 are.

Rose
Beasley
Mayo
Lopez
Gallinari
Love
Gordon
Randolph
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Knowing McHale it's probably:

Rose
Lopez
Gallinari
Love
Mayo
Gordon
Randolph
Hibbert

Lets hope he doesn't have the final say.

I'm not 100% certain, but didnt he say something similar last year? Seems like after the lottery, he came out and said something like "We like where we are, there are about 8 guys we really like so no matter how the draft unfolds we'll get one of our guys". Its probably just his standard media statement this time of year.

If you're picking 3rd, you only need 3 favs! He better get that list narrowed down.
