Brit Robson hints McHale might choose Gallinari?

I just noticed this bit from Chad Ford's chat:
Chad Ford: I've heard that the three guys they like are Lopez, Mayo and Gallinari. Lopez fits a need ... but Mayo is the best fit and an upgrade, in my opinion, over Rashad McCants and Randy Foye. Gallinari is the wild card. He's good ... it's just a question of how good. He'd be a good fit there.
The Rake's Britt Robson was on the air with Chad Hartman/KFAN on Wednesday. Robson said that Kevin McHale was "pretty excited about something" after his trip abroad and that he talked about "this kid from Italy, 19 years old" (a description which fits the profile of Danilo Gallinari).

He can shoot and handle, seems to be a good pick from 5-10. If the Wolves move down I'd be fine with Gallinarni, but he'd be a reach at 3.

I would actually rather have Gallinari than Lopez, I think he's an underrated prospect and a nice fit for this team.
Not that I wouldn't be pissed about him passing on Mayo though.

I don't know anything about the Euro, but I have a hard time believing he's a better prospect than Mayo.

Besides Mayo, Gallinari seems like the next best choice

Nothing I've read about Gallinari makes me want to draft him.

I've read that McHale likes Gallinari/Lopez and Bayless already. I doubt Britt knows what there draft plans are

When did McHale come back from Europe? Was it before or after the lottery? If it was before the lottery, then he could have been impressed with Gallinari as a potential 5 or 6 pick. It doesn't mean he wants to take him at #3. It's all probably smoke screen anyway, just like Hawes last year.

Conversation: "Did you see anything in Europe, Mr. McHale?," asks random reporter. "Why yes, there's a 19 year old kid I really like," responds the big sweater wearing GM. Now we have a random reporter stating, "According to sources high within the Wolves braintrust, Gallinari is who they like." Or if it was one of our favs, "My good friend told me...." or if he happens to be in St. Paul, "A little birdie told me..."
We are going to hear a ton of shiz in the next month, take it all with a grain of salt.

come on guys. all he is doing is saying he "really" likes these guys that should be available in the 5-10 range to basically see if someone will overpay for the 3rd pick. Yes, I do have faith that he knows what he is doing..shocker.

KG
seemed like a good pick at 5-10.

It was before. It isn't/wasn't even a smokescreen. Robson said that he doesn't have a clue who the Wolves will pick, just that McHale had a big smile on his face after he came back from Europe. For all we know, that could just mean that his plane had a layover in Amsterdam.

didnt I post this about a week ago?
Gallinari has the markings of a stud. The concern (very valid) is that if he is athletic enough to defend the 3 spot and be an average rebounder.
