Nice guess.
The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced that the team and KFAN-AM 1130 have reached an agreement on a three-year radio partnership beginning with the team's upcoming 20th season in 2008-09. KFAN, the Wolves' radio home for the team's first 17 seasons, returns as the official flagship radio station of Timberwolves basketball after a two-year hiatus.
KFAN will broadcast all of the Timberwolves' 82 regular-season games and playoff contests as well as three preseason games. Additional programming and promotional elements will also be included in the agreement and will be announced at a later date.
"We're thrilled to be returning to our original radio home and to the leading all-sports radio station in the state of Minnesota," said Timberwolves president Chris Wright. "This agreement shows how KFAN shares in our excitement about the direction of our basketball team and our on-the-court product. We are developing an exciting, young nucleus around Al Jefferson and we are an NBA team on the rise. We really view this as a partnership that is beneficial to both parties, and one that will be great for Timberwolves fans throughout the state of Minnesota."
"We're excited to welcome the Wolves back to KFAN," said Mike Crusham, Regional Vice President & Market Manager for Clear Channel Radio. "It just makes sense that Minnesota's NBA team would be on Minnesota's sports leader.
