If we draft Brook do we want Robin?

Pretend we end up with Brook (ignore Mayo, Beasley, Love etc)

Should we then try to acquire Robin Lopez? I kind of am wondering this because I see a few benefits. I believe they both will remain loyal because they are brothers on the same team and they would have a pretty big role. Brook has already said he wants to help Minny win and Robin would probably share his enthusiasm. I would want to stay if I was playing with my twin brother (if I had a twin brother at least), buts thats just me. I could be wrong, but I think it would make sense. We would at least lock Jefferson, Smith, and Richard at the PF position and Gomes would stay at the SF position.

It'd be nice to have them both, but at the same time it appears our goal is a center and wing player in this draft. Not sure if acquiring them both would fit our plan.

Just found this link about Brook hoping they could be drafted together.

Off topic but he also said, "Al Jefferson being a very accomplished low-post scorer, and I wouldn't really have to worry about the double- and triple-teams I faced in college. It'd be more one-on-one and I'd just do what I can. I'd really be looking to play the five position and I'd cherish the opportunity."

I agree with you totally, I've always wondered if maybe the Collins' would've been a little more effective if they would've had their careers on the same team.

I don't know the dynamics of twins, but I know there's a unique bond there. Plus its not like we'd be drafting him just because of Brook, he brings a lot of valuable traits we could use.

Depends if they plan on bringing back Smith and Richard.

I say draft them both and make them keep their appearances identical. Then if one turns out to be a stud, we can agree to trade the good one only ship out the bad one instead. Its foolproof.

Id draft him if he was there at 31. I wouldnt move up to take specifically him cause we drafted his brother.

Then play zone defense with Foye and Brewer.

2-1-2 or 2-3 zone. We'd have the tallest front court in the league, lol

If we did draft Brook....which I wouldn't be happy about....I would be pissed if we didn;'t draft his brother. For one..they obviously have great comfort level together....which could help them transition into the NBA be much easier. Plus...as I would hate picking the Lopez'...it would solidify our front court. Then we could trade our 2nds and grab someone to play the 3 or draft a point...maybe a guy like Lawson.
Foye/Lawson, McCants/Brewer, Gomes/ Brewer, AJ/Smith, and the Lopez brother manning the center. With guys like Snyder and Jaric to float and help our wherever. While this isn't my most ideal situation...it does give us depth all the way around. I would do it...Right now I would rather take Mayo at the 3.....trade the 3 for the 8 and Bogut....picking up Gallinari(hopefully) But if we took the Lopez....we could solidify our depth...but Mayo and trading our two 2nds for a big is still my top pick.

They didn't really dominate college basketball together where they at least had a great size advantage over their opponents. I don't think the combo would that good at the pros - I'm not a fan.

I actually think they can all work together. Smith and Richard are both a bit undersized for the center position. Brook and Robin would enable the two to play their more natural PF position.

I think people would think Anderson Varejao and Robin Lopez were separated at birth.

That would be the greatest thing to happen ever. Problem is, Seattle will probably grab Robin with their 24th pick.

I think we would only have to trade one of the second round picks. I think we only need to move to #23 because I am sure Seattle would love Robin Lopez at #24.
