Beasley measuring in a little smaller than expected (6'8") and saying he's a combo forward (not a true PF)....

Mayo's fundamentals really showed here. He looked as smooth and as comfortable as any of the prospects in the gym. His shot was falling from everywhere, and he showed great poise.

It was interesting to watch one front-office team -- from the Heat -- zero in on Mayo. Many times, NBA executives and scouts spend as much time talking as they do watching the action. When Mayo was on the floor, he had the undivided attention of Pat Riley and GM Randy Pfund.

Makes me think that Beasley "may" drop to three. I still think the odds are slim, but I don't think Chicago or Miami want a SF...they both want a low post presence. It's possible or at least more possible than if he measured in at 6'10".

I would love it if by some small chance Beasley falls to us. He would be a great second option on this squad

PF's Elton Brand & David West are listed at 6-8 & 6-9 respectively.
Beasley can play PF at his height. He might have some defensive
issues guarding seven footers like Dirk though. The Heat would be ridiculed mercilessly if they passed on him. He should be as good as Melo but with 3PT range. I just can't see it happening.

Foye 6-4
Brewer 6-9
Beasley 6-8
Jefferson 6-10
Lopez 7-0

That line up does look nice.

If Beasley drops to us he's going to be an absolute terror on the court next year. He deserves to go #1 and if he falls to #3 he's going to have a chip on his shoulder, which is something the Woves have never had.

Beasley at sf is ideal for us, however, I think this would spell doom for Gomes. But whatever, even though he's pretty goofy off the court, B-easy is a MAN on it. And he's not even 40.

I hope it is in socks, because shoes add about an inch.

Looking back at previous measurements, Big Al Measured in at 6'8.25" w/o shoes and 6'9.75" with soes. I hope Beaslet has a wingspan like Al's, 7'2".

I'm sure they measured him with and w/o shoes, but the NBA "listed" measurements are usually with shoes so I'm sure that's his height in shoes (especially since from the interview it's clear he wished he measured in a little taller).

Eeck, the more I read about Beasley the more he worries me. In my mind you want your best players to be the hardest working and most unselfish so it trickles down. Maybe he's just having some fun but it seems like he should be in job interview mode.

Michael Beasley looked super fluid and athletic getting up and down the court, finishing with either hand and looking to be in pretty good shape. He attacked the drills with a lot of competitive fire, but most definitely was clowning around way too much throughout the day right underneath the noses of the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls. There were a few people that expressed concern with some of his antics over the past few days. He shot the ball just decently.

Yet high above, there sat Riley. And while Riley hates nothing more than people trying to read his emotions, it is difficult not to get this read: Michael Beasley is not Pat Riley's type of player. We're not talking skills here, just personality.

I don't know... I really like Mayo's work ethic. I hope McHale starts saying that he really wants Beasley so Miami selects him and we just grab Mayo and run.

Should we be concerned about Beasley's attitude? Will Al Jefferson be able to keep him in check? If he does drop, is it more likely that McHale trades the pick? Lots of questions with this guy. I have a feeling he will drop to us now. Even though I would have liked him to have him measure out taller, He will give us a superb SF/PF and if we can trade up to get R.Lopez, we would finally have a "tall" lineup.

Since Beasley is essentially a very rich mans version of Gomes, who do we bring back now. Lets assume we trade McCants (ewww cants and beasley on the same team....) I think the best deal would be to Orlando for their pick and Reddick.

RLopez - Richard - Jefferson
Jefferson - Beasley - Gomes
Beasley - Gomes - Brewer
Brewer - Reddick - Foye
Foye - Telfair - Jaric

The positives are that a Foye, Beasley, Jefferson trio would be very diverse and won't step on each other toes like mayo and foye would. Foye would be the PG for sure. Brewer, with his height, can really be effective defending a SG and gives him every advantage possible on the offensive end.

Reddick is totally worthless in the nba game, he can't create his own shot and cant get playing time on a team that lacks outside shooting and a sg, yeah sounds like a great plan trade a talented effective 6th man and trade him for a dude that wont be in the league in two years.

And whats with everyones boner for R. Lopez lol he is nothing special. He wouldn't even start and would be worthless to move up for. Their are plenty of other bigs with similar skill sets that will be available when we pick. Its nonsense to trade our best outside threat and second leading scorer for a player that wont be in the league much longer and a Center prospect thats hit or miss anyway and is by no means a starter in the NBA

I get that...I guess I have been swept up by all the Rlopez love. My point is that McCants and Beasley on the same team could be great and also could be really...really bad. I think he has the trade value to net us a 3pt shooter and legit C.

We can hold on to him and try it out. I think Hardin will be there at #31. He cant play a lick of offense but he is gifted physically. I read something on draftexpress that says he looks like DeAndre Jordan excpet 2 years older. We still need a starting C as Hardin should come off the bench.
