Minnesota trades:#3pick, Brewer, Mccants, Jaric
Minnesota Receives:#5pick and Marion
Miami Trades:Marion, Haslem, Wright, Cook
Miami Receives: #3pick, Jaric, Miller, Cardinal
Memphis Trades: #5pick, Miller, Cardinal
Memphis Receivs: Haslem, Wright, Cook, Brewer, Mccants
Minnestoa does this trade so they could draft love at 5 and add marion. They would be immediate contenders with a lineup of:
Telfair
Foye
Marion
Jefferson
Love.
Miami does this trade so they could get two guys they like in this draft and will allow them to compete for years to come. Lineup:
Mayo
Wade
Miller
Beasley
Blount
Memphis does this trade to get lots of young talent and maybe a player or two might work out for them.
Conley
Mccants
Gay
Haslem
Milicic
and lots of young talent off the bench.

That's not at all the direction the Wolves are looking to go in.

interesting, but we want to get young tho
one potential problem might be his contract (depends on how much it is extended)
i don't know if this would make us contenders though in the loaded west (especially against POR).

Marion wants nothing to do with Minnesota, and the feeling is mutual. And I would take Lopez over Love at #5 if Mayo was off.

Marion would love to be on the Wolves. He'd be the first option on the perimeter if he was here.
But he is a headcase so no thanks.

Memphis Trades: #5pick, Miller, Cardinal
Memphis Receivs: Haslem, Wright, Cook, Brewer, Mccants
Why would Memphis trade their starting SG (Miller), a likely bigman prospect (Lopez, Randolph or Love) and a young combo guard (Critt)
for two SGs (Shad, Cook), two SFs (Brewer & Wright) and a PF (Haslem), to back up current starters Gay and Warrick??? If I didn't know any better I'd say that your actually Chris Wallace and your actually thinking about making this deal.
Conley-Lowry
Shad-Brewer
Gay-Wright
Warrick-Haslem

I actually laughed out loud.
The more I think about it, the more it looks like we'll be dealing with the Heat 1-1. The Bulls WILL take Rose, and clearly the Heat are not crazy about Beasley. They would love to get their 1st round pick back from us, but they realize that we have leverage. If they pass on Mayo, he will not slip past us.
So what is the middle ground? We give them the 3rd, 31st, and 34th picks for the 2nd pick. They get Mayo along with 2 guys from what experts consider a deep draft. We get Beasley. Hopefully, then we will resign Smith, Gomes, and Telfair. The best option for this team is to build from with in. Even if one day we have enough money available to sign another player to a max contract, it will be nearly impossible to convince them to come here without overpaying(like Rashard Lewis).
Jefferson/Richard
Beasley/Smith
Gomes/Brewer
McCants/Jaric
Foye/Telfair
Plus 3 potential 1sts next year.... Very nice

This is bad for Minnesota, but even worse for Memphis.

Or we just pick whatever is left.... that deal, or any deal giving up stuff to miami to move up and get a player they don't want, is short bus. I sound like broken record here.
sit back and pick whatever is left PERIOD.

Prefuse, I agree with you, if I were GM I'd just pick up the scraps from Miami and Chicago. Unfortunately McHale has been known for picking the wrong guy. I have this sick feeling that if Beasley is not there at 3 that we will reach for need with Love or Lopez.

yeah, I guess I am just hoping for the best
I get a little po'd when everyone on the trade board just assumes that we will pick the worst person in the top ten. We don't get any kind of respect. We gotta keep in mind that its not soley mchale's decision.
