Not surprising. With his record and the shortage of proven head coaches in the league, I'm sure he'll land somewhere.

Avery Johnson to take over?
Or will Terry Porter be the man?
I have a hunch its Porter.

DET fans just expected all those wins, but have been talking about getting rid of flip for the last two years. There big complaint was that even though they were winning so many games, Flip should have had Billups, Rip and Rasheed on the bench more, so that he would develop the younger players too.
Flip will be fine. He'll get a big raise from a veteran team. If this had happened last year, as rumored, I wonder if he'd be coaching the Gophers right now? No slight on tubby.

This is unfortunate but not hard to see happen. Flip is a very solid coach, but he was not able to fully input his philosophy and identity on this team being that it was very established prior to his coming on board. The result was a mesh of two different styles that didn't work great together. I am sure he will land on his feet, I just don't think he was given the right tools to succeed there and that it wasn't a great fit.

No, we are trying for an "anti-flip" system and Flip does not like young guys. He will get a job, just not sure where.

I like Flip, but I don't think I like him for this team. Now it could have primarily been the rosters he has had, but his offensive sets seem to revolve around jump shooting; and, though we have a few nice jump shooters, we are not the team we were before the last time he was here in terms of the qulaity of shooters we have. I would hate an emphasis to fall away from getting the ball inside. Unless he could incorporate a nice inside outside game, I don't see it working for us.
More importantly, Defensively, we are working on developing a M2M defensive scheme (and struggling a bit at times with some players) and we really do not have enough team size and length to be as effective in various zone schemes. Maybe in the future, but we are better off working on basic man to man and working on our defensive rotations due to the players we have and their stages of development. This is, of course, in my opinion from my recent, relatively limited ability to watch the wolves.
