Not that much wolves related but it's draft related, the deadline is today, I forgot what time (Monday) but Ty & Wayne told me earlier they were returning.... Ty said he had a promise from Denver but after his injury & off the court situation they told him they might decide to go in another direction. Wayne & Danny we waiting on promises although neither never got one, I think Drummer21 changed Wayne's opinion IMO, he delivered a message through me to tell Wayne and he's taking that advice.

Green is the only on still on the fence, he said it's a good chance he's staying but from his point of view he doesn't think he can improve his draft stock anymore than what it already is by coming back.

Oh and OJ said his agent is trying to schedule a workout with the wolves the week before the draft! Also he reiterated that he has no problem playing for the Wolves but he'll try to workout for the big market teams first !!& I let him know he already has numerous of fans down there in minny ! But he didn't understand why , although he noticed there was a video/interview/clips(I forgot which one he used) of him on the net about being a future T'Wolve.....

The last thing I have is that I heard Rose won't work out for the wolves during contact basketball vs other players & at the most he'll do a private workout, that's all! I might hear more day by day because of my trainer I'll be working with on a day to day basis.

If DEN had a promise to Ty, that means that they are not the team that McHale had a deal with ahead of time to trade the #31 and #34 for a first round pick.

This might be possible now though.

It's great that he may actually work out here just in case our swap with Miami (for the rights to Beasley) goes bad. That swap is sounding more likely/logical all the time, plus, Marion has settled in at SF/PF and Wade is a big Mayo supporter.

I've also heard that the Milwaukee rumor involving their #8/Bogut package to get the #3 pick is so-so and has become more of a plan-B if anything.

we need him to workout for us if for no other reason than to make sure everybody knows we're a potential destination for him and that if they (namely Miami) want Mayo, they have to deal with the Wolves at 3.

If he flat out refused to workout for MN, that'd complicate matters

From what I hear (*heck, it is all lies right now--so be careful) There is no Mia/MN swap. MN does not want Beasley. The Mil swap is if Mayo is selected from Miami. At least, that is what I hear. Take it for what it is worth.

A few reasons. There aren't many, but it piles on after a while.

For one thing, there are a couple prominent guys on the board who are there simply to make the surfing lives of Wolves fans difficult simply by rejecting every move the front office makes. It seems like they aren't really fans, but it is their prerogative to make sure that everyone knows that if you are a Wolves fan, you are an idiot.

The trolls are a huge aspect of that board. They go in and create bogus rumors, trade speculation and just incredibly stupid posts that seem legit at first, but you wonder how you can get the last few seconds of your life back after reading absolute drivel.

Personal attacks may be the biggest reason why I left that board. I know we may have our disagreements on this board, but over on KFAN, almost everything gets blown out of proportion. Here, we'd say, "I disagree." However, on the KFAN board, it would go something like, "YOU F@%&ING MORON!! YOU'RE SO F@%#!ING STUPID TO EVEN THINK THAT COULD BE A LOGICAL ANSWER! DID YOUR DUMBA$$ PARENTS DROP YOU ON YOUR HEAD WHEN YOU WERE A BABY?!"

I came here because that board referred to RealGM for a lot of its sources, like, "A poster on RealGM wrote..." or "RealGM has an article about a possible trade that might go down." After perusing through the boards here, it seemed a lot more civil and professional, so I just stuck around here.

There's a lot of activity that goes on at KFAN and I sometimes go to their page to see what the fans over there think about what's going on with the Wolves, but most of the time, I just don't waste my time over there.

In a way, this may answer the "in between the lines" about the two most consistant rumors. In other words, we may not be involved in one or the other, but potentialy both.
1.) If we're cool on Mayo & Beasley and think they're over-hyped for whatever reasons, I suppose it's possible we could move up to #2 and acquire Beasley, then, turn around and trade his rights to Milwaukee for Bogit and #8. Likely, we'd have a contingency on who'd be available at #8, or just keep Beasley and move on.
2.) What we'd end up giving Miami to select #2 is an unknown. I'd assume we'd return their future #1 they owe us (plus cash considerations) for the exchange to happen. What we'd give to Milwaukee to make it work dollar-wise via Bogut is another unknown.
3.) Beasley is not a quality passer if they are looking to compliment Jefferson. I'm unaware how well Bogut passes (I think decent), but do know he's statistically improving his scoring and rebounding at the center position. Acquiring Bogut would allow Jefferson to play PF.

This may all be fictional rumor B.S. as always, but I'm starting to see some logical sense on these rumors and how they could possibly be linked together.

The reason that board sucks is because it's pretty much unmoderated.
If it were half the jackasses on there would be banned.
The only value in reading it is that there are actually insiders who post once in a while.
I expected mayo to work out with us closer to the draft.

I think Galinari's recent comment about only playing for New York and New Jersey may throw a monkeywrench into any trade down plans, especially the Bogut/8 deal. Galinari's been the one guy not mentioned much if at all in McHale/Freddy/Stack's interviews, I think there may be some substance to them liking him. But he has a 3 year deal on the table from a Euro team for more than he'd make at 8, so he has some serious leverage.

I just don't like any of the guards after Mayo and Rose. i like Joe Alexander, but he's a reach at 8, and I hate Brewer at SG. We wouldn't come out of the draft with the 2nd scorer we need. I'd still take Beasley.

If the wolves give up miami's pick to trade up 1 spot for Mayo OR Beasley, the entire Braintrust should be fired. That is horrid value. They have very little leverage in a bluff. Beasley is an outstanding player. He is without a doubt the most offensively gifted guy in this draft. If miami picks Mayo we immediately draft Beasley and pull a Portland. We wait for them to call and offer to swap picks. Then we offer them 100 grand and a tissue to cry in. I guarantee if they call first it will be pretty easy to call their bluff.

Personally I believe they've been targeting Beasley since they traded Shaq and went into full-on tank mode. RIley took Blount and Ricky (a player h dealt away before) and gave up a first in the process. Don't buy into the "character concerns" Riley has about Beasley, he knows talent wins and he knows he has no low-post threat or chance of getting one in FA.

EDIT: I saw on DX Galinari is now going to work out for the wolves. Perhaps that changes things.

I was amused to see that my opinion of the KFAN board is the same as everyone else's. Like them, I posted on KFAN for a while, and I also found that the few good posters (banks, dummer, minister of hindsight, and a couple others) were drowned out by a few abusive, repetitive posters. It was like when you try to have an intelligent Timberwolves conversation at a bar, and three loud, drunk Vikings fans come over and start saying, "The Wolves are the worst team of all time, McHale has always been (Please Use More Appropriate Word), Glen Taylor is the antichrist, and you're a f@!#ing %#$%# if you say different!"

Sadly, I stopped by the site a couple weeks ago briefly, looking for log of McHale's interview with PA and Dubay. I posted two comments on the boards, when I found out it was just the same. the same psoters are still flooding the boards with the same infantile name-calling for anyone having a different opinion over a year ago. I could feel myself getting drawn into the drama, and then thought -- man, this place is never going to change.

Message boards work best if we share what we know and discuss it in a respectful manner. That's never going to happen at KFAN, which I feel, is very unfair to the site's good posters.

We've just got to bring the good posters over here.
