Once again, an excellent article. He says exactly what I've been thinking about Joe Alexander all along, that a 5-game explosion and subsequent slip-up in March doesn't turn anybody into a lottery pick. The guy is athletic, but not a freak basketball athlete. He doesn't do a whole heck of a lot if he doesn't have the ball in his hands, and his jumper is maddeningly inconsistent.

If Donte Green, Nicholas Batum, or Bill Walker is available at 31, the Wolves absolutely have to take them. 2 of the 3 if they get the chance.

With the chance that Batum has a (possibly hereditary) heart condition, I think we're going to see him fall. If that's the case, however, I don't know if he's worth the risk, even in the 2nd... Has anyone heard anything more than just the news about him going in for testing?

"French forward Nicolas Batum will undergo a series of tests in Cleveland at one of the top cardiological hospitals his agent told DraftExpress this weekend. Batum has stopped conducting private workouts for the time being after tests in Toronto and New Jersey revealed he could possible have heart issues. Bouna Ndiaye, Batum’s agent, is concerned that teams believe this to be a heredity issue (which would make it much more serious) and hopes to prove that Batum’s father didn’t die of a heart attack. Ndiaye thinks, after Monday, he will be able to show teams that Batum is in good health and will be able to conduct workouts immediately after."
