I'm glad that Craig is back at Target Center. Maybe there is some hope that they keep him.

If we end up with Love, I dont see how we keep Craigers around. We still wouldnt have a legitimate post defender to match him with.

As for the Jersey's, damn, August? I was really hoping to see them whipped out tomorrow.

Love is a decent post defender. But Craig needs a dally-like shot blocker to play next to him. He still would only get the 10-15 non Al minutes. I think he will get a better chance somewhere else.

I'm trying to convince myself that Love and Jefferson could be Laimbeer and Mahorn defensively. I'm not sure if its working.

Love is "quicker in space" and taller than Mahorn. If that helps. Love is a much better rebounder and shotblocker also.

Mahorn was listed at 6'10 and I don't think Love is quicker either but that's too long ago for me to remember.

Hoiberg said he likes Love's ability to pass, and distribute from the high post, making things easier for Al.

Here's my shot at it: all the NBA's Final Four teams had similar defensive frontcourts:

KG/Perkins
Gasol/Odom
Rasheed/McDyess
Duncan/Thomas

Long guy/strong guy, right? (except the Lakers, who had two long guys and got pushed around by Boston's front line in the Finals.) Height aside, isn't Jefferson a "long guy?" He's got a 7' 2.5" wingspan. KG's wingspan is 7'3" and Sheed's is 7'2".

Jefferson is not a great defender, but physically, he's the long guy. If that's the case, doesn't Love fit strong guy definition exactly?

Since Mahorn played a bit of a role in why McHale still walks with a limp, you'd think that would be the last froncourt he'd want to emulate.

The way I see it you need a great guard (preferably point) and a great bigman (preferably center) to win. I think we have our bigman we just need the guard.
