Amazing what McHale has accomplished in a year.

Good job McHale. Up until the draft I was willing to defend most of the moves you have made thus far in the last few years with giving up KG, drafting Brew and getting Foye.

This latest draft was a tough pill to swallow, but he has done a great job on the rebuild in the span of one year.

it's nice to see someone summarizing what McHale did and until this draft I was really fine with him doing the rebuild so far. as of today I'm not sold on the trade but I'm really open to like it. let's see how it turns out.

Every year we have to be reminded of past mistakes. Whenever we draft or trade a player, the first thing that is mentioned is picks/trades from years ago as if it is breaking news. Thank you for telling us that Allen was a better draft choice than Marbury. Who cares if it happened 10+ years ago and repeated every year. After all, it must be news for someone...

I don't see what's so incredible about it. Getting Jefferson was huge. He'll never be as good as Garnett but he is a guy you can build around. Outside of that I don't see much. The Hassell, Blount, and James trades were good prior to a couple days ago. It doesn't look like we're working towards free agency in 2009 anymore.

Getting Jefferson was the best thing Mchale did, because when you look at all of the other trades that happened in the league, Mchale actually got fair value.

-Ray Allen for Jeff Green basically..Wally and Delonte are both gone.

-Pau Gasol for Kwame, future pick, Critt, Marc Gasol, I know i'm forgetting someone, but either way, the trade stunk.

-Kevin Garnett for Al Jefferson. Telfair and Gomes aren't guaranteed to come back, but I bet we re-sign Gomes.

I guess it's good that he got rid of all the cancers, but we are actually still paying off Juwan Howard's contract from the Mike James trade, and it didn't hurt to have Ricky Davis' expiring as a trade asset.

Its a funny thing though, every "expert" seems to think we got a terrible deal. Bill Simmons constantly brings it up, Jon Givony of DX said we traded KG for "a bag of chips". Jeff Van Gundy went as far as saying Al Jefferson is a "could-be-really-good" kinda player, which to me, seemed like a backhanded compliment as if he isnt already "really good". Its blatantly obvious that none of these analysts watch any Timberwolves basketball nor do they care to comment on anything other than Kevin McHale's past blunders.

Shout out to NBATV, ESPN, and all the other NBA programs out there that are the BET/MTV of basketball

NJ got pretty good value for Kidd, too, considering Kidd has shown to be on the decline while KG is still going strong.

Yes, but what Memphis did with the Gasol trade made Mchale look smart. I think Fred helped him out more then anyone knows.

You can't be given credit for a rebuilding job until the team actually starts winning games. Right now we're sitting on a 22 win team, that's not rebuilt by any standards.

We've been going through the same thing in Toronto for years. No respect whatsoever, but obviously being the only Canadian team in the NBA, some of that is to be expected. On another note, the BET/MTV comment was gold.

incredible how exactly? will this team be any good next year? no... they are in the running for the number 1 pick next year... not number 1 seed... the way this team is constructed they will win about 15-20 games... mike miller and jefferson are good players but not good enough to compete...

Yeah I agree and I've said this before. All those same experts said McHale was stupid for keeping KG in MN, then after the trade he was stupid for giving him up. I dont think he could have won either way. If the KG never happened, all those same idiots would probably be saying right now "MN could have added a young stud like Al Jefferson if they traded KG, now they are stuck with KG and a bunch of overpaid role players".

15-20 games? More like 25-30, if not more. That's one of the problems I have with trading for Miller, he's going to help us win games in the short term making our draft pick next year worse.

AriesMar27, you've convinced me--15-20 wins it is. An intelligent, knowledgeable, well-thought-out, insightful, and well-written take on the situation. Any guy who writes that Miller and Jefferson are good players but can't compete earns my vote as analyst of the hour.

I don't see how this team misses 30 games if everyone stays healthy.
