On being happy to be back:
Telfair: I came here last year and had a good season - didn't win as many games (as I would have liked) - but the Wolves definitely wanted me back and I'm happy to be back there. I get another chance to play in front of the best fans in the league."

On working on his jumper all offseason:
Telfair: I took the most jumpers I've ever took in my life this summer. This summer I've been in the gym so much taking shots and working on my individual moves and finishing at the basket. "

On his second home:
Telfair: I just wanted to find a home and I was comfortable in Minnesota. I'm from New York and that's my home, but Minnesota's my second home forever."

On his ankle:
Telfair: I'm feeling healthy. I think I took the right amount of time off to get my ankle to be good. I was a little upset that I didn't come back (last) season because I wanted to play and continue to prove myself, but now I feel that it was the right move for me to continue and sit out and get this ankle 100 percent. I'm not 100 percent, but I'm about 99 percent.

On finishing at the rim, which wasn't a strength last season:
Telfair: The criticism is fair. Early in the summer I was still missing. But now when I'm working out, I'm making 10-of-12 floaters and layups that I'm doing when I'm going through my drills. I'm definitely improving and going to continue and work on it.

On his assist-to-turnover ratio, among the top 10 in the NBA:
Telfair: I've got to give a lot of that credit to coach Wittman. I think early in the season he put (the responsibility on me of) how to be a point guard and not turn the ball over. You shouldn't turn the ball over if you are a point guard; you're taking shots away from us, points away from us. And then I was just comfortable with our offense.

On the Wolves re-signing Ryan Gomes and Craig Smith:
Telfair: I was definitely happy that those two guys got re-signed, because those assists that you were talking about - it was those guys who were finishing for me. Ryan Gomes is one of those guys who can pick-and-pop and knock down jumpers consistently. And Craig, all season long he was consistent at setting screens and rolling and catching the pass when I bounced it to him and finishing. I'm definitely excited to have those guys back.

On Mike Miller:
Telfair: He's one of the best shooters in the league. He can get hot and not miss for 20 minutes. He's going to spread the floor being able to shoot the ball from anywhere the way he can. With me penetrating and with Al on the block drawing a double team, it's going to make it a lot better team. A lot better team. Fast, like immediately we'll be a better team. Today we are a better team already with those guys on the team.

On Kevin Love's game:
Telfair: I think he has a couple of those things in common with (VP of Basketball Operations Kevin) McHale. McHale is considered one of the best big men to play the game and he wasn't the fastest guy, but he definitely went out there and got it done - he won championships with that speed. And I hope Kevin Love can come and do that same thing.

Great interview..thanks for posting it calinks. I really like that he knows his weaknesses and is trying hard to fix them. It seems every player on our team is like that. I'm lovin being a wolves fan right now...minus all of the losses we accumulate. lol

I like how he owned up to things and acknowledged the criticism as valid. I like that he said the right things and is doing the right things. I'm looking forward to a good year from him.

He is putting his cousin to shame right now I'll tell you that much. If Marbury showed half the class and commitment that Telfair has then he probably would have been a more successful player.

Great interview. I still have high hopes for telfair and it will hurt if he does become a legit pg to team with foye when we verse but I still hope the best for him. He seems he has really matured since leaving portland (the gun in the purse incident) not saying it's immature but his response was non chalant and didnt acknowledge that it was somewhat of a big deal considering we were trying to clean up our image. If he has really improved on his jumper/finishing around the rim this season will be entertaining. Gl with telfair.

Hey thanks Blazermaniac, we don't get too many kind words from Blazers fans around here. Appreciate it.
