I've always been a big fan of Mike Miller. I think he would fit in really well in Portland at either starting or back up SF.

What do you guys think about a trade revolving around Outlaw for Miller?

Thoughts, Ideas?

I would think on it. Something like Przy + Outlaw for Miller.
Too bad you will not have money to resigh him, his contract expires the same year with Roy's and LMA's.

if u heard all those news at timerwolves.com about how much love Miller got from the wolves FO, and given he loves the team too ever since he was that south Darkota boy, it'd be hard to imagine a deal with portland that sent miller there within a package without getting either LMA, Roy, or Oden bac in the returning package

it's not hard at all, I don't know why would Blazers want Miller though.

I think at this point it would take a miracle for Minnesota and Portland to deal.

To outsiders, Mike Miller looks like he's not a fit in MIN, since he's older, he's paid more, and with nice production and overall skills, he may appear to fit a win-now team. However, Mike Miller grew up in South Dakota which looks upon the Twin Cities as a cultural mecca. He grew up as a big fan of the Wolves, Twins, and Vikings, and he had the biggest grin I've ever seen on someone coming to play in the Twin Cities. His overall skills and flexibility help, because the Wolves don't know which young players will grow, and which won't pan out -- Miller is even great coming off the bench! Moreover, after the KG trade, Kevin McHale has moved all of the original vets except Madsen for youth, but he mentioned he thinks he got the team a little too young. Miller is only 28, but he's a vet, and should make the game easier for the youth that's out there. In reality, Mike Miller is a great fit for MIN.

Outlaw is a nice player but I don't see MIN trading Mike Miller for him.

I don't know how much the South Dakota connection matters, probably a lot of it is Mike Miller saying the right things (if he had the choice between playing for MN and Portland, would he really choose MN? I'm not so sure), but the more important thing is what he does on the court - gives MN a guy you could argue as the best 3 pt shooter in the NBA to spread the floor for their double and triple teamed post man, Al Jefferson.

I get the feeling MN front office is very pleased with how their roster looks on paper at the moment. If they show the expected improvement, I don't see them moving valuable pieces with a guy like Cardinal or Madsen or whatever just to dump salary. At some point you have to try to field a decent team and Glen Taylor has struck me as a guy who wants to have a competitive NBA squad. He'd rather not hemorrhage money either, but he doesn't want to be one of the idiot owners that doesn't care about the quality of the product. He has more pride and competitive spirit than that.

I dont see anything outside of Portland's big three fetching Mike Miller.

Or theres the possibility that he will fail. I'll favor that eventuality based on previous European guards in the NBA.

Marko does actually have basketball IQ, and I believe there were reports about him dunking over a car before he was drafted or something of that sort.

I think Rudy's a lot quicker/more agile from what I've seen, but marko had hops in his younger days.

that's Marko Milic that dunked over a car, not Jaric. I've never seen anything athletic from Marko Jaric. And I've never seen Rudy Fernandez hit the side of a backboard on a corner 3.

LMAO @ the thought of Maro Jaric dunking over a car! The only car that fool could dunk on is a match box or hot wheels. And even then I doubt him, he'd probably slip on the car and bust his dome open. Then somehow manage to get his brace put on backwards. Of course he'd get a smoking hot nurse though.

Miller is a nice and versatile offensive weapon and I believe he can even post All-Star #s given the right situation (a-la Wally in 2002), but he's 28 and he already hit his ceiling. He's a veteran, a true professional and a good player, but he's not a star, he can't carry an offense all by himself. Outlaw on the other hand is young and somewhat clumsy, he doesn't do much besides scoring, but has the talent to be much better that Miller in the future. Throw in Przy, who's an ideal matchup to Big Al in the frontcourt and it's a trade worth thinking over. And the fans who are saying that noone outside Oden-LMA-Roy can fetch Miller are delusional. I repeat, Miller is a nice player, but he was just a throw-in in the Mayo-Love trade, that maybe lower than his actual value, but it's close.

Mike Miller wasn't a throw in, the deal wasn't going to go through until Memphis decided they would include him in the trade.

That's the definition of a throw-in. Point is that trade was never about Miller, it was about Mayo and Love.
