2009-10 $6,031,800

I would do it if Diop had a 2 year contract at half of what he's getting paid. AS it is now, he's not anywhere near that much.

I'd personally rather try and make a move for Darko at 7 and 7.5 a year that coincides with the 2010 then take on Diop's ludicrous contract. We wouldnt be able to move him until 2011 at the earliest.

I don't get why Dallas would do this? They need a Center more than a wing...

Diop is overpaid way too much and I don't think he'll help us that much

No reason Chicago does it. Dallas might have some interest due to Thabo potential, though they need a 5 more than a wing, so not likely.

If Minnesota didn't jump on it, it would be a travesty. Madsen is a great team guy, but brings minimal to on the court. McCants is ok, but we have numerous wings and Diop is a true center and a fairly athletic and defensive minded one as well. That is pretty much the exact thing we have been dreaming of pairing with Jefferson since he joined the team. I am very suprised that most are against it. His contract may not be ideal, but it is likely he is the type of player we would be looking fro come free agency time in 2010. Most centers are over paid as it is and this gives us decent value for McCants. Is Diop the best 5 out there? No, but he fits well to current and probable future needs.

Hate the length, but I probably do it if I had to make a decision today, not that I think it comes close to being an option.
