Randy Foye was on the radio yesterday with Joe Soucheray and he was asked how many wins he expected from the Wolves.

"35-44"

I appreciated hearing a player answer a question like this directly, so I give credit to Randy Foye. Joe Soucheray pointed out that this would make one of the biggest improvements in the NBA.

Foye also pointed out that he thought there was no way any other team trained harder for this season than the Wolves, with guys here two months early, and some staying all summer to work out.

Encouraging.

Very encouraging, and I think accurate. We improved so much after Foye got back, and then with what we added. Wow....just wish we had any other coach.

That's awesome. I remember being a little surprised at how early players were in here working out.

While I think the Witt bashing will probably end up being apt and accurate, he deserves at least some props; the guys were here ridiculously early working their butts off. While that might not necessarily reflect positively on RSW, it certainly doesn't reflect negatively on him. If the guys didn’t want to play for him, would they have been working so hard together? That’s at least something. He's not going to keep these guys from 35 wins. He just might keep them from making that -next- leap.

40+ wins would be cause for excitement

I like Wittman could be ok as a head coach as far as being a motivator Mike Tice kinda coach, but he needs big-time X's O's coaches around him like Doc Rivers has, some guys at the top as far as innovation. I think he needs to add a really strong offensive coach.

That's actually quite a large range, 35 to 44. The difference between winning 35 games and winning 44 games is big, meaning missing and making playoffs. If the Wolves are talking playoffs, 44 has to be the minimum amount. But I give Randy credit for a legit answer, not some cliché b.s. It would be the best if they could get out to a really fast start, like a 7-2 type start just to get the ball rolling. Unfortunately, their schedule isn't the best, and there's some tough games early on and their homes games in November are really tough: Dallas, San Antonio, Portland, Philly, Boston, Phoenix, and Denver. That's brutal for a team trying to make its mark.

Still, I like his, and for that matter everyone else on the team, attitude. Even if we dont actually hit 35, which is within the realm of possibility, the fact that these guys all think so highly of themselves and each other is the kind of attitude that you look for in a team. You dont see that very often, especially not in a team so young.

I love Foye and I am so excited for the upcoming season

No way does 44 wins make the playoffs in the West this year.

Well seeing as how its Year 2 for Brew, thats where my money would go. He has to follow in the footsteps of both McCants and Foye.

I pray we have an injury free season.

Until last season's absolutely ridiculous West conference, the best record to miss the playoffs was the 44-38 our Wolves pulled in '04-'05. I know the West is ridiculous again, I just have a feeling some teams are in for a drop, and getting in that 44, 45 win range will likely have you right there for a playoff spot. Now I doubt 44 will get you in, but just being that close, and in the mix, would be HUGE for this team.

You don't see guys thinking highly of themselves very often? Umm...

But yeah it is nice to hear from a player (it's ok for them to be delusional about expectations, it isn't for the front office guys though). Hopefully they can back it up.

good to see he got confidence on himself and this team....but realistically, i'd say 35 wins'd be an ultimate goal this season, 44?..... i dont really think so, i predict 30-34

McHale predicted as many as 42 wins! Wittman wasn't as optimistic...

I think D'Antoni would be a perfect fit. Love may not like him so much but D'Antoni would have more to work with in Minnesota than in New York. Still, I loved the expression he gave when he found out the Knicks were awarded the 6th pick in the draft.

I think 35 wins is gettable, it will be hard but we can win that many if we play well.

44 wins... no **** way
